Question Alarm On The Roadster ?

That might be a stupid question but is there a built in alarm on the roadster other than the chip in the key ?

Default Yup,

There is an alarm on my Touring Roadster. I am guessing it is on the other roadster model to.

It is pretty smart. If you lock the car with the remote, then reach inside and unlock the door and open it the alarm goes off.

i hv a touring roadster too, I m sure the alarm is an optional from the dealer unless u buy the demo model or second hand (some dude may order that option). But I fit my with the pager alarm with microrave sencer, so i can park my Zed with the top open. anyone put their hand into the car will set the alarm go off!!! The alarm come with the remote start function which require to cut the chip from ur key. so I didn't do that.

Default unlock

I unlocked it by moving the lever by the door handle.

Maybe if you unlock it with the button it disables the alarm.

If I leave the car top down (rare) I at least leave the windows up. That way nobody can reach the button, just the lever.

But mostly I am too paranoid and put the top up and lock it if I will be out of sight.

Default Alarm Activation Delay

I went to the dealer with the same question. I was about to install an alarm system because I thought I didn't have one.
They proved to me that once you set the alarm there is a certain time delay, how long I'm not sure, and then if you reach in and unlock and open the door the alarm will go off.
I don't think that it has any shock sensors tho.

I closed the door using the remote, the car was top down windows down, and I opened one of the door using the lever but nothing happenned.....

You definitely have to wait a good bit before the alarm gets armed. I was trying this today. I locked the doors with the FOB, reached in and manually unlocked and opened the door... Nothing.

Later on, I locked the car and went inside for a bit. I came out and tried again and sure enough when I reached in, unlocked the door and opened the door the alarm SCREAMED!

I'd still like to get a two-way so I can get warning when the car is approached.

The alarm is armed when the LED goes from solidly lit
to blinking, about 30 seconds after you arm it.

What can I say? Mine works the way I described, and that's
the way the owner's manual says it is supposed to work too.

BTW, mine is a Daytona Blue Touring roadster, white leather,
with the 18 inch wheel option and the NAV option. I took delivery
April 24th. I have 780 miles on it now, still babying it until the
official 1200 mile break in period is complete.

Mine goes off whether the roof is up or down. That doesn't seem to matter. You do have to wait like a minute or so before this happens.
