what would u pick? coupe or roadster ?
whats up peoples... Im in a position where i can either get a coupe 350z or the roadster ? both have their advantages and their disadvantages and simply put i cant make my mind up and just wanted to know what you guys would do. I know the roadster is a little slower because of the extra weight but later on ill be getting a twin turbo so that doesnt matter. oh and one question do the coupe bodykits fit the roadster ? cause I havent really seen roadster kits for the z.
All the body kits fit the Roadster and Coupe...The Roadster looks sick with the top down, but OK with it up...I have a coupe and love it to death...If I had to do it again I would stick with the coupe...I imagine the coupe handes better too.

if you are planning to drive the car all year round in new york your probably better off getting the coupe since you wont be able to take advantage of the roadster for the better part of the year. For a daily driver get the coupe, if this is going to be a weekend/sunny day car the go for the roadster.
then go for what you want. I personally love my coupe but almost wish I got a roadster since I only drive it when I'm home in the summers. (college student not allowed a car on campus)
(I also hate to looks of the roadster with the top up)

yea i hate the car with the top up. but when the tops down i like it better then a rx-8 and s2000. I test drove bothe of those before the Roadster and to me the things i could do to the car would be just insane. The day i drove it I had already visualized how everything was going to be. I still cant make a choice and i prolly wont until the day I go to buy a car.

Coupe, the roadster looks fugly with the top up, and with the top down looks like a boat from the side and every other vert you see driving around. Or they make them look ugly down here by having the top down and windows up.
Also its funny to see people with verts down here. Its too hott to have one. They are sweating their a$$ off.

well if $$$ wasn't an issue I'd go roadster all the way......but around here the difference between a base coupe and a roadster is as much as $13k.....I'd take the coupe and use the leftover $$$ to pay off my other car or buy more motorcycles

No question, coupe. IMO, the roofline is what makes the car.

IMHO without a top the Z looks ‘heavier’. Also the ‘sides’ of the car look too ‘high’. I can’t describe the look, but it the roadster looks completely different to me and changes the whole appearance of the Z.
And I agree with Dustin4u , the top on the roadster is a joke. Nissan really messed up on the top’s design.
But no offense to roadster owners –any Z is better than ANYTHING else on the road.
Peace
in defense of the roadsters though I really haven't ever seen a traditional roadster that looks good with the top up when compared to it's counterpart with an actual roof. The only ones that ever look good with the top up are things like the SL55 and those old Mitsu 3000GT Spyders with the articulated hard-top style convertibles. There's only so much framing you can put in a traditional soft-top to try and get some representation of an actual roofline......the idea is to just keep the top down all the time. My fave convertible of all times is probably a '56 Porsche Speedster and they look like hunks of TURD with the top up.

Also the Jag XKE; probably the best looking convertible sports car of all time.
Can't believe some coupe owners dissing roadsters. Take a coupe and put it next to my roadster and take a poll of people passing by. I bet the roadster will get more votes...no contest. I'm sure most Z coupe owners secretly would have wanted the roadster but couldn't afford it. Oh and I think the coupe is very nice looking, just doesn't compare to the beauty of a roadster nor does it get as much attention.
I agree with Rushguy. I bought my wife a roadster, just because she always wanted a convertible. I'm a coupe guy myself but this car has really grown on me.
On a side note, most of the 350Z roadsters I've seen on the road have a women behind the wheel.
