Hail Damage Advice
Help! Got caught in a hail storm and ended up with 7 new dimples on the hood (no where else, hood pretty thin). Anybody got any home remedies for removing them or have you ever seen them pop back out due to sun? They're pretty small, dig camera won't even pick them up from 3 ft.
Poor Zeta, she was such a young lass, now she's damaged goods.

I don't think I would try any home remedies on the hail damage. Take it to a paintless dent removal shop. They can take the dings out with no problem. I think the hood is aluminum--that might explain the hail damage on the hood only.

that sucks. we have hail very rarely here in hawaii and i have never seen it.
can you claim this on your insurance? if so, then maybe take the money and go get an aftermarket hood. that is what i would do. to me, i figure, might as well upgrade rather than repair it back to original. just my 2 cents.
i wouldnt say i am hoping someone would hit my front bumper, but if someone ever did.... nismo bumper baby!!!

Whataguy 5431,
Hail damage is covered on your comprehensive. Last year took both my 300zx's out to clean my garage. Nice early Spring day. Suddenly sky got black hail pummeled both cars. Got them both in the garage within 5 minutes.Damage was well beyond PDR. $5500 to fix my turbo with T-Tops, $4700 to fix my zx convertible. Luckily, my 350zr had not yet been delivered or good chance it would have been hammered too. But, sounds like your situation should be simple for a good PDR guy. Cost should be less than $150. If the guy is good repair should be perfect. Other option is new hood. If your going to claim it on your comprehensive check out your deductible, you may want to opt for a new hood. Otherwise get PDR and pay it out of pocket.Good luck.

Definatly call a PDR company and also have them check the tops of your fenders and quarter panels, your decklid is fiberglass. Make sure you check under the hood after the repair is done because we repair the damage from the inside they could scratch the underside of your hood. If you have anymore questions about PDR don't hesitate to pm me. I've been doing it for 10yrs and was on a national hail team. Don't worry she'll be good as new in no time.

Thanks for all the posts guys, PDR is the way to go.
Whataguy,
For future reference hail damage is covered under your comprehensive. Comprehensive claims should not effect your rates. But, depending on your deductible it may not be worth claiming. If you think it's worth it you should still be able to put a claim in.
