Is This Spacing Normal?
When the top is up on my '04 Roadster, I have noticed that there's a fairly large rigid metal plate covered in grey plastic that drops down just behind the seats back of the glass windbreak and over the metal tonneau that hides the top when it's down. You can also see the plate through the top's rear window.
My question: There appears to be about 1/2 inch clearance between this plate and the metal tonneau. Is this space normal or should the plate and tonneau virtually touch leaving no discernable space?

Appreciate the replies! Yesterday, however, before I received the replies I drove a distance to the dealer to obtain a definitive answer.
They assured me that when the top is up, that vinyl covered plate DOES HAVE a space between it and the tonneau for the reason mentioned above: it could and would scratch the paint if it was any closer.
For some reason, I had never noticed the spacing before and it looked odd to me, hence my question.
