Z hardtop looks better than Roadster?

I like the look of the roadster top up or top down, but it's definitely down 95% of the time when I'm driving. I bought it specifically because I wanted a top-down car. Coupe does nothing for me, personally.
FWIW - my dealer had two roadsters when I was shopping, a black Grand Touring and the Redline Touring (which I bought). There was an Interlagos Fire coupe parked out front. Was still dusty three weeks later when I came to pick up my plates; no one was test-driving it. Plus he had a new silver coupe, just arrived, and a couple others.
Both the roadsters were sold and he said he had a wait-list for the next ones he'll get in later this month. You want a coupe, it can be had easily. You want a roadster, unless you get lucky on timing you'll probably have a wait.

Funny this post is still around, I remember reading it last year when I was buying the zr. I just love the ZR! In '03, I was looking at a coupe, bit it was way too impractical to trade my truck. Also, headroom was very limited. After I paid the truck off, I bought the ZR. Fantastic! And like many have said, the feeling of driving topless is just phenomenal. Love the coupes also. I'm going to own this puppy for a long time too. Just pure fun!!! Especially in So. Cal.

Im down in south florida and my dealer had 6 roadsters, and only 1 coupe. He said they could hardly keep them on the lot ( the coupe that is)

I waited until the Roadster came out to at least look at it before i bought mine. and the day i saw the roadster i ordered my hardtop just because of the more aggresive lines the hard top delivers.

6If they can make a Targa top for the 350Z then a hard top for the convertible is as easy as contacting a company such as newport convertibles. That would make a great group buy item. Any vendors listening???!!!

It's my understanding that hardtops increase frame rigidity, and roadsters are a bit heavier due to the additional equipment needed to make it a convertible. I doubt I'd ever get a convertiable-anything for those reasons.

Man, you don't know what you're missing! A convertible is like nothing else. Who cares if it's a little heavier?
Interesting how this topic shows different perspectives - looks like some people compared the coupe to the roadster, and decided in favor of one or the other, and other people compared EITHER the coupe or the roadster to other competing cars. For myself, I compared the roadster only to other convertibles, and thought it was the most fun and best value for the money of anything out there.
Wouldn't even have considered the coupe; what I wanted was the convertible experience.
What about others, how did you decide to buy whichever variant you did?
