Default Different Trim Levels?

Alright, I'm looking at buying a 350z Roadster (probably down the line, but I'm reading up now), and I'm curious...what are the real differences between the Enthusiast and Touring versions of the Roadster?

I know the Touring has leather, and the Bose 6 CD system, but performance wise...anything different? Some one give me the run down, because Nissan's site only seems to compare the Coupe models...

Thanks,
Corey

Only difference would be weight of car if any. I know the touring model weights more on the coupe, you can check it on the R. Bottom line, same suspension and drivetrain. I tracked a 350ZR on the same day as my coupe. I was plesantly surprised with hopw well it performed.

Touring has more luxury equipment such as leather, heated seat (gotta have that) and few more.

If you are looking for performance enhancement wait for 2005 Grand Touring ZR, that has combination of Touring / Track model equipments, but still same engine and transmission. I think you just get Brembos and Ray wheels.

Is the 35th anniversary going to be limited? I'm looking at getting my Z a couple of years from now as a used car (I'm 20, have college and such to pay for before I can get a car like this), and wanna know if they'll be available or not. If not, no big, I can always swap the Brembos and wheels, and I plan on doing forced induction at some point anyway.

35th anniv. Grand Touring ZR is only for 2005... Unless you want to get Ultra Yellow (2005 only color), you should be fine.

I don't think you are getting that much more on Grand Touring ZR other than a cool badge that says 35th Anniv. model. At least nothing you can't get later.

I traded in my 03 DB Touring Coupe for a 04.5 SB Euthiaist roadster, I really was not impress with the leather seats it started to show wear and tear , the Bose 6 CD changer they could have had a better sub system. Also, the 18 inch rims have tire feathering problems then the 17's. I like to have it simple.

Feathering problems was fixed with an alignment.... But the 18's will give you better traction as they are a bit wider then the 17's. I noticed this when I drove my brothers Enthuiast (sp?) Model and around corners his tires would squell some where as my 18's was perfectly quiet.... Plus the seats in the Touring are more comfortable, as they are not the same design as the Enthuiast model. Plus you get heated seats in the Touring

I've had both, touring and enthusiast; currently drive the touring. I know there are no mechanical differences b/w the two, but the enthusiast seemed more sporty. Perhaps going from 6 speed enth. to auto touring is the reason, but I swear the enth. just felt different. As far as the leather in the touring, I actually purchased aftermarket leather from www.leatherseats.com and replaced the stock leather; the aftermarket is much higher quality and feel. So, if you are ok with installing your own stereo and nav, and can spend money on higher quality aftermarket leather, plan to get your own aftermarket wheels and what not, just get the enthusiast and take the few grand premium that you'd pay for the touring and get your mods. I would have traded into an auto enthusiast but the touring was all that was available in the same color and all. Otherwise, I was very happy with my enthusiast model. By the time I get through with mine anyway, the only thing stock that will be left that came with the touring model are the heated seats (NA on enthusiast...one thing you'd give up that I really like), nav, and bose. Now don't get me wrong...I'm happy with the few perks the touring brought me, but I wasn't searching for the touring like I said, and given the choice, I would have just gone right into another enthusiast model. My only problem was I had to get out of the manual transmission...which I miss terribly, but the manumatic is terrific, too. Works better for me and my lifestyle, anyway. But whatever you do, good luck. You'll be happy with whichever you choose. The Z is an awesome car!

First, the performance differences in the ZR line up are minor. They are all respectable performers on the street. Any diferences would be forgotten as soon as you drop the top. It doesn't seem to matter when the sun is beating on your face and wind in your hair. If you plan to track, you'll be much happier to go with a coupe.
