I hear new tires work. The Z sucks in the snow or on any slick surface. I will drive my winter car and leave the Z safe and warm at home.

you can run a really good set of blizzaks, and if you dont bottom out in the snow you'll be ok.

I'm simply not gonna take that risk since I have the base model and no LSD

Let the Z hibernate for the Winter and get a inexpensive FWD car or AWD SUV....

Sounds like you've never driven a RWD car before in the Winter...it's a REAL biotch for the unexperienced driver.

Trust all of us on the forum and do not risk driving the car with the stock summer tires. Many have said: "It's not if you'll lose control, it's just a matter of when".
I for one (and others) have spun out and/or lost control in the snow, unintentionally.

i have no garage, but is it alright if I leave it outside w/ just the OEM cover? Or is that just leaving it without the cover and have it freeze.

oh god, when i bought my touring the past feb. i had the 'opportunity' to drive in the snow. It was the WORST experience i have ever had in a car. I spun out 3 times..luckily didnt hit anything all three times. do NOT drive this thing in the snow. Please, just dont.

Driving the Z in the winter on snow or ice is will be about as successful as jacking off a mountain lion, in a phone booth with sand paper. ( :

I have an 03 base and I've driven it in the snow with the stock tires with little trouble. That being said, I bought a second commuter car that I drive daily and in the winter. If you want to drive year round definetly look into dedicated snow tires.

Move to AZ and you wont have a problem with snow Hell if it rains here people freak out and drive half the speed limit.

LOL worst car in the snow ever!!! A 1/2 inch snow here in Raleigh NC rendered my car useless LOL. I do give this advice, turn OFF the traction control when driving in the snow. First winter i had my Z i was trying to take off at a stoplight in about 1/4 inch of snow and i was going nowhere! As soon as VDC recognized wheelspin it cut in and stopped. I couldnt even take off LOL. Dude in a Corvette pulled up beside me laughing and politely told me to tunr off my traction control. I did so and i spun for the first few gears but was finally able to get moving.

I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 all-wheel drive for my winter beater...something like that is the best option.

what does one recommend for Z owners w/o garages? Should I just keep it in a storage unit or a friends garage for small payment?

I have a custom fitted cover from autoanything.com and it protects from Rain, UV, Ice etc. Thats what i use on my ride. In fact its under it all week every week until the weekends. It does a great job keeping it dry and im sure it would do fine on yours. If you can find a garage or storage place somewhere then yeah would def be best. Here in NC we have plenty or warm days in the winter that allows me to drive, but if i lived in an area that received excessive snowfall then it would be different.
