350z vs. s2000... my friend compares. You MUST see this...
Alright well my friend went out and test drove (back to back) a 350z and an s2000 and this is what he had to say.
I am "R1ckyB0bbyyy" on EVOm. and I please notice how when he implied that the C5 Corvette was amazing at everything, "unlike the 350z which was amazing at nothing"... I provided him some road and track, and sport compact car road test specs of the two cars... and I showed him that all the catagories he brought up, the 350z was actually the better of the two!

the Z and the S are similar in a straight line only through 2nd gear. After that, PEACE OUT. Anyway, I have regrets of not getting an s2k. I love my Z but when i drive the S i just love the convertible and handing of the car. I'm not much of a go fast person so i feel like the S is a better cruising car.
I can't believe that no-one mentioned that the '02 S2000 had a 7250 rpm torque peak (even then it was only 175 lb-ft)... you had to work the car over seriously to get power out of it. They also did not respond well to suspension mods... IIRC, lowering them made them very succeptible to oversteer, where the Z remains more neutral.
I really like the S2k, but as a daily driver, I love the easy on demand power of the 350Z.

Meh, I'm not a convertible type of guy and the S2k lack of torque just doesn't do it for me. I also didn't enjoy the cramped feeling of being in a S2k. Other than that, I still think they are nice.
The Z is just a better car for my preferences.

My suspension feels much better after coilovers. I also enjoyed watching a stock S2k try to drift. It understeered around the figure 8
I actually had an opportunity to test drive my co-worker's 05 s2k. Let me make it short and to the point....No torque, i had to rev the **** out of it just to get it going, interior is cramped, slow........
the Z is so much more comfortable than the S2k...i sat in one and it felt like a death trap...and im 6'1 and i guarantee that it would be impossible to fit a 6'3 person into a S2k with the top up...the only thing i did like about the S2k was the short shifter....it was a beautiful thing...other than that the Z FTW
D*mn! i just read two of these threads last week! PEOPLE SHOULD JUST GET THE CAR THAT SUITS THEM! THERE IS ALWAYS A FASTER, BETTER HANDLING, BETTER LOOKING DESIGN OUT THERE THAN THE CAR THAT ANYONE CURRENTLY HAS! THERE IS NO PERFECT CAR! I TRADED MY S FOR A Z AND HAVE NO REGRETS! I have a 92 buick as a daily driver which i think everyone needs to really appreciate the Z(you know, let the power surprise you every now and then so you dont get used to it) nobody bought their Z cause it was "slow" and nobody bought their S cause it was "powerful" Ladies and Gentleman, just enjoy your cars while you can, we will have to succumb to the treehuggers in a few years anyways
