Default Just bought my 370z

i bought a car in New york (2009 nissan 370z, purchased 9/23), i noticed some minor issues that made me nervous, but in general kicks the crap out of my old TA, and the car was not inspected (he said that since i was lived in jersey i would need to inspect it here) what is my recourse if i find issue with it, and where should i go to get it checked out.

I understand noones a lawyer (unless one of you is, then please, chime in) im just freaking out a bit, and could really use some advice

I am assuming you purchased the car from in individual. If so, you probably have no recourse if you notice problems. You should have had the car checked out by a qualified mechanic prior to handing over the money. Having said that, I realize hindsight is 20-20.

You bought as-is. Meaning if you find something wrong it's your problem. I learned this the hear way when I bought a vehicle at age 17.

Bought from a dealer, sorry, not from an individual.

http://www.nyc.gov/html/dca/downloads/pdf/Used_Cars.pdf

i did find this on NYC.gov, it states that they have to supply warranty if the car is over 1500 dollars. Im just not sure if there is some caveat (its a consumers guide so it tends to be a bit dumbed down.

I would take the car back to the dealer's service department and have them take a look at the problems that are concerning you. I suspect they will be willing to work with you to get the car fixed.

Thats absolutely the plan, im running it through inspection, and having a trusted guy over at my local dealership take a look. If anything comes up that i missed, ill bring it straight to them. If its just the splash gaurd missing, ill fix the busted tab on the bumper and just throw on a zspeed one and call it a day.

i really dread going back there, it takes an hour and a half one way.

Hopefully all is well. This is why I am always hesitant to buy an out of state vehicle.

And NYS inspections suck!

the dealer can fit me in tomorrow, so im taking it then.. buying in NY (time spent aside) MAY actually be better then in NJ, if this lemon law thing works the way they say (jersey says your screwed regardless)

Well I wouldn't be worried. If you haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary it could be something small like brake pads if that.

well, it checked out ok, then the 16th, the csc failed, leaving me stuck at a light.
i went to the dealership (not the one i purchased from, thats in NY, the one right up the street.)
csc, cmc, pressure plate and clutch.. all getting swapped under powertrain warranty. not sure how. might have something to do with the fact that it still has the temp tag on it.
I didnt even realize how lucky that is until i went through the forums on this.

I was PISSED at first, i thought they were going to give it to me like ive read on here, the guy was like sooo i need your car till tuesday, but its all free. I was like sure, you want wends too?
they have to wait for parts to get the service lines approved (cant do a clutch install without a clutch). but a new clutch never killed anyone, im happy waiting.

Yeah I wouldn't be complaining either. My next big purchase is replacing everything you're having replaced for free. S*** is gonna hurt the bank

just parts isnt TOO bad, i wanted to do the zspeed csc, but for free, ill live with oem..

your in NJ, if your goin the dealer route, i can give you a good reputable dealer to do it..if not bear tire and auto is pretty much the only people i'll deal with for trans work their on 38.
you probably got a guy already, but never hurts..
