you made 500 on 10 psi and 650 on 29 psi. thats not even 8 hp per psi. we can make the same hp levels on the same boost but we are trying to get it do that without the bottlenecking that we are both going through.

maybe it is the stock manifolds.....

+1, thats way to much boost for that power... that doesn't sound reliable.. a thousand miles or so and headlift will become an issue

Hello,

As stated earlier in the thread by IntenseFab, it didn't hold at 29psi -- it spiked. It held 21psi to redline. The turbo was all in. The initial post needs to be edited to state that the motor has ARP headstuds.

21psi on standard head studs is still pushing your luck, I know from experience. Best of luck though!

I'm interested in seeing if it makes much more power with a larger turbo. I also wish I could see what the piping looks like from under the car.

I personally wouldn't feel right running around at 21psi making 600-650 or so... IMO it means there's a bottleneck somewhere and if it's exhaust side it's trapping heat in there.

Hello,

Thanks for your luck! Let me address your concerns:

1. Boost pressure has nothing to do with the head lift, cylinder pressure does. I.E. -- you could run 21psi and only make 400whp and never have a problem.

2. The stock ARP's are only marginally stronger than the OEM bolts.

3. We've run well over 1000whp on Supra's with stock bolts.

4. Our engine builder (the same one that builds our 1500whp Supra's) has advised us that for this power level we didn't need to run L19 studs.

5. The tune is most critical. If you detonate you have cylinder pressures that equate anywhere from 3x-5x or more pressure, or more than the cylinder pressure that's actually being produced. If you stay away from detonation with a proper tune, the stock head bolts are sufficient for this power level.

6. We put standard ARP bolts in because we were already into the motor. Our intentions were to push the limits of the stock sleeves, so we didn't want to hit a stock bolt limit before a stock sleeve limit and have to go into the engine twice to achieve our goals.

7. This will be a production kit, off the shelf, sold to the public. We are testing right now. It's not meant to give everyone 650+ whp, but it's capable of it.

If you're not familiar with the name Jason Seibels, Google him. He was the chief designer of the AEM EMS and the tuner of Stephan Papadkis's cars, John Sheperd, and many other of the fastest imports in the world. His resume and track record (pun intended) speak for themselves and we have full confidence in his company, Pro EFI, and of course his tuning abilities.

Thanks again for your luck!

Darren (thanks Jorge for posting the new dyno results -- now over 700whp w/ a GT37r -- and no head lift )

Why would you say there's a bottleneck??? 600-650whp at 21psi is about damn PERFECT for a 35R. If they only made 450ish at 21psi, then I'd say yes, definitely a bottleneck. But that's not the case here at all.

The fact that the 37R made over 700whp is testament to the fact that the piping on the kit FLOWS. No way to debate that...
