Man there's a lot of unnecessary animosity towards ZeeForce. Just because somebody doesn't like the motor doesn't mean ZeeForce is trying to support Nissan and say that the V2 is some kind of godsend.

To me, he's been objective with collecting this information and I wish that the people who complained would have given their input on their motor so we could have some more accurate information. Personally, my third motor (first V2) appears to be a dud. However, this thread has been invaluable for me.

Thanks to 9kfever, Bofa and ZeeForce for all their work on this.

Thanks for the kind words. I have made my peace and turned a new leaf. Suggestions have been taken to heart and I am backing off the regimental red tape on gathering the stats data. I sent out numerous pm’s last night and I have already replied back to a few tonight to let them know that any info they can provide will be helpful, and no need to worry if the info is insufficient, that it will be posted with any info provided. Therefore anyone that received pm’s, can provide any info they would like to share. As always, no data has been, or will be discarded. To my fellow members that have decided to leave this thread, good luck and rest assured that your stats data is on the updated stats list, to be posted shortly. All data collected is accurate either through corresponding pm’s with members in concurrence, or member posting info online. If anyone feels their data is incorrect please pm me or post it up on the thread and the changes will be made. The collection of this information is for all us to analyze and determine if the V2 is a success or failure. I have nothing to gain by condoning or condemning the information collected on the stats list. My intentions were to collect accurate and sufficient data. Although since today’s discussion, I have changed my collection method, to make it more user friendly to all members. I will continue to send out pm’s as a service to this community, although I will change the importance placed on, all of the data required.

At your service
-Curtis

Default The updated Stats List 03/23/08 is here and is posted on the first page.

Long over due, my apologies, I have been cramming over the weekend to get this posted up as promised.

I have added an additional date to the “Last Updated” column. If it states “PM Sent” with a date preceding then it’s an indicator that I have sent a pm to the new member or a follow up on an older member requesting information.

RevUp Oil Consumption TSB and discussion-v2-and-v1-stats_a_0033.jpg RevUp Oil Consumption TSB and discussion-v2-and-v1-stats_b_0033.jpg

If someone would like to take this summary template (below) and go through the list, it may help with others with a quick glance at the overall status.

It’s your choice to take the suggested template (or make up a new one) and run with it or not. No pressure here.

At your service
-Curtis

Weather is getting better, I should have my stats updated by this weekend.
Only have 170 miles on the v2, and will be getting my oil changed out this weekend.

It sure is time consuming for him. No doubt about that. I don't really understand what some of these folks are looking for. They seem to think this thread is the bible on ALL v1 and v2 issues. It is certainly not. 99.9% of all owners will never be here and never know that there is a potential issue with the rev-up.

I think Curtis (ZeeForce) has done a great job and he actually is asking for a minimum amount of information that anybody that is truly serious about getting this issue resolved should easily know. Seems like some people want mommy to hold their hands through all of this. They do not understand they have to actually do work to get it resolved. I even saw a post where the person was too lazy to go get there invoice to determine the amount of mileage since the engine was installed/last oil changed was performed.

I'm glad to hear that your v2 has been a success. Mine does not, but you do not see me attacking you and claiming you are somehow working with Nissan to dimish the severity of this issue.

Bottom line:
Everyone here needs to understand that some of these v2s are a complete success, while others are a complete failure. Play by rules of the Lemon Law in your state and everything will work out the way it should depending on your situation. You can not take shortcuts simply because you have stats showing that the v2 does not fix the problem in x% of the cases in < 1% of all 350z owners.

We all need to recognize the amount of effort Curtis has put into this and that his information is truly only as good as the information he receives and if you want your stats on their, you must follow his guidelines. If you do not like that, then come up with your own stats.

couldnt have said it better , its not like you can take this report to nissan and get your engine fixed this is a knowledge base a wiki have you of collected reports which i think is very informative and something that nissan should be doing or the BBB. So i applaud him for even attempting this feat.

Yea , i would laugh in someones face if they told me that i was working with nissan to disquise my engine issues .Considering my engine came preety much along with dbasals engine to orlando there is no benefit to me at all if that was presented to me unless you saw me rocking a nismo Z lmao all of a sudden.

People just need to appreciate some of the sht people do and if ur not doing nothing about the situation but complain then why comment or hate when your not making a difference.

People dont understand that there are revups that are v1s and have no oil consumption, there are v2s like mine with no oil consumption , and there are failures. To make theories as to why or not is truley immature . Just follow the lemon law procedures and be persistant and they cant deny you at a certin point however long process. Hell if you look back at the original thread i was asking info on the process my self and it took a while for me to get the ball rolling , buit eventually i did and got my issue resolved . And finally got a engine that works . But yea much props to those who are working the system.

Also remember alot of the readings i see people did just like my friend almost made a mistake by checking the car without letting it settle etc...or getting retarded dipstick readings (our dipstick is retarded). Granted this is no resolution just giving pointers.

Good luck my revup peeps , my info is in the original thread of what i did and hopefully we can have some revups soon at 300rhwp or else...lol

Not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but RB and I got our V2s at nearly the same time. So far mine is using VERY little oil as well. Now I have seen here where some say they were fine until some mileage, like 10,000 miles, occured. I have about 9500 on mine, but so far so good. Using Dino 5w30.

Sooooooooo I don't believe anyone has brought this up but, does anyone feel a difference with the V2 motor????? I mean powerwise, the car doesn't feel like its the same. I have noticed that on the lower end from 2rpm it pulls alot smoother and quicker then my previous motor, sucks I cant dyno it now but I know its not in my head because I let my friend drive it and he said it drove wayyyyyyy different and he isn't the type to agree on most things

i have over 10k on my motor and no issues, with m1 0w40. Good to here you have minium OC. Try switching to 0w40 for a cycle with the m1 synth filter and let me know how that goes its thicker and for me gave me awesome results . Blackstones tested in vq35 by resolutes anyalsis and showed great performance in the vq.

i can tell you for one thing that the v-2 motor def improved my low end performance. I race my friends HR and she even said dude that engine is stronger then your previous one. Im literally at her rear bumper now while racing which before she was putting car lengths on me. And its getting closer and closer with each minor mod i do. V2 from what i seen def either is a functions real revup or just has more power in the lower end. I even raced a stock revup and destroyed him .....so im confused myself. DYnoing as soon as i get my skunk2 TD exhaust with my MHFCs .

Lol Thank you! This confirms I am not an insane idiot

I have only driven it to 4RPM or slightly below, but it pulls better
then my previous motor, which leads me to think did I lose power
uptop??????????? Can't tell since I dont wanna push her until at least 500 miles.

I would say to Dyno 1st before going with exhaust etc, to see what the stock numbers are.

V1 - 10102-AC7MA - 28mm low in 1228miles.
V2 - 10102-AC7MZ - 1st O.C Test @ 13mm low in 896miles.
- 2nd final O.C test, still got 700miles left to go.

How should the dipstick be read? Are you supposed to tilt it upside down to let the oil roll down the stick then right side up again?

has anyone else had nissan tell them to redo their oil consumption test because they didnt have a record for oil changes. i went it and had test done ant it burned 14 mm in 1000 miles. now dealer calls back and says corporate wants dealer to do a oil and filter change and bring it back in another 1000 miles.
