I'm not sure what's ideal, but the wallpaper option resizes them to fit the screen.
I found out there's an ability to change the startup screen also, but it doesn't resize.
I called Kenwood and here's the instructions they gave to me:

1. enter setup mode by:
- holding both SRC+EJECT and while holding it press the RESET button
- wait for the screen that displays:
- Kenwood Image
- OEM image
2. Connect USB that contains your customized startup screen (480 x 234 pixels (this was taken from another post that I found))
3. Select OEM Image
4. Select the file that you wanted to be the start-up screen, hit ENTER
5. You will be back to the screen described in (1)
6. Turn OFF unit by holding SRC
7. Turn ON unit by pressing SRC

I actually had to use FUNC and eject. Unfortunately, I went through all of the steps and it didn't startup with the new screen. The reason that I posted this is in hopes that someone else can get it to work. I know I've probably done something slightly wrong, but I don't know what.

If you need one just call me, We got our hands slapped for selling them at the Pre-buy price. It made some other venders upset. Call me if you need something.

Hey kaspia. How come you didn't scratch the poop out of your console like I did? Thanks for posting.

Are you talking "pry" mark/scratch? I didn't use any unnecessary forces when disassembling the center console. Also I used that "magic" pillow (pix above ) to cushion and lay soft towels everywhere, but to be honest there are a few minor fine scratches (not sure was it there before the install -- oh well it's bound to happened).

If you are familiar with the basic then its not that bad. Navi unit requires additional things to do/remember such as running cable for the microphone, GPS antennae and important to find a solid grounded point for the HU. Just take your time to double-check your connections before turning up the car (blew out a fuse my first time ). I think installing this is harder than installing CarPC

You will need the SWI-JACK for the Kenwood Unit.

I was just bonehead and didn't pay attention to what I was doing and ran the console across the bare shifter arm. I had a loose nut behind the screwdriver.
The pillow is a great idea.

Is the big difference between the 8120 and the ddx812 just the navigation? I can't afford the 8120 right now, so i plan on getting the 812 and the navigation later. Is the navigation the same for the 812+add on as to the navigation in the 8120?

The KNA-G510 nav unit has an MSRP of about $800.

I know the 8120 has the bluetooth built in which means you dont need to buy the add on kit.

Would this badboy support a PC input? Or is the 480 x 234 too small? I want a doubledin that'll support PC input with or w/o touch screen support and the mp3car.com community would shat bricks for it too.
