Man that guy is so lucky to have one. I wish I could say I was putting mine in this weekend. I feel like a kid at christmas time not being able to open my presents until christmas even though some are right there under the tree. So close yet so far away...

 

Having been down this road before, it's hard for me to get as excited as TreeFiddyZee or Hurricain. If this Kenwood unit is marginally better than the Pioneer AVIC-D3X I currently have, I'll be satisfied. The wife is going to get the Kenwood, so it's not going to do me much good anyhow. I was real excited before I got the Pioneer unit. That was until all of the units shortcomings became apparent.

 

What are these "shortcomings" you speak of?

 

Has anyone heard from wicked at all about the radios?

 

I called in yesterday and still none.

 

The navigation portion of the Pioneer unit is not what it should be. I've used it on local roads and it's "shortest route" is sometimes nowhere near as short as other routes. If I know a better and shorter way, the unit won't memorize that route. Sometimes it will just plain direct you down roads that are nowhere near your destination. Note: the Kenwood unit uses a much better nav unit, I'm told.

The manual for the Bluetooth portion of the unit says you can do hands free dialing. And you can. But there are no voice prompts or on screen prompts to tell you what your phone is doing. All of the "Did you say Bob?" prompts are missed unless you are looking at or listening to the phone itself.

There are other things not up to snuff with the Pioneer unit. The Kenwood unit has got to be better.

Hey Nazar, did our Order #'s change? I originally had a different order number than the one I received via email today.

The reason I'm asking is because I had originally told you to add an IPOD adapter, but I'm not seeing that on my order??

I just got home from the local Kenwood dealer and he gave me a demo of this unit, it totaly kicks ***! All you that have it on order will not be disappointed! Too bad they want $1600.00 for it, as it would be nice to get it local and not have to worry about the warranty.

 

You don't have to worry about it, Call me. As long as you can wait.

 

DNX8120 is supposed to be delivered today! I'm going nutz at work waiting for it!!!!

 

What kind of wait are we talking if we were to order one in the next week or so????

 

Mine was paid for on April 10th. Still no sign of it. Patience is a virtue.

 

i have a question....

if i was to buy say the 7120 which already has the built in navigation would i still be able to output the navigation to the seperate monitor that kenwood is also providing for sale.... cause i would really like to go that route
