Lame IMO...i agree with Alberto, Maximumsport Z and others that contributed to the racing forum. Like many said before....it's not going to stop members from posting kills...and even if u try and lock them they will keep on coming... if u dont like just don't click...a disclaimer should solve the "we dont promote racing"
I can't say I spent more than 5 minutes in that forum in the last 8 months... and those were threads that were moved from the main 350z forum. I'm not gonna miss it.
However, are we going to just start deleting everything illegal? Censorship doesn't belong on public forums... especially not one that I'm now paying for.
If this is a CYOA situation, I understand, but a simple disclaimer is sufficient.
There are other ways to discourage street racing and encourage taking it to the track besides pretending it doesn't exist.

Well, thats too bad. I enjoyed the vids of high end cars on freeway runs. Sure there are trolls around that start useless threads like "can you beat this honda" or "my evo smoked your ..." but you can usually filter through all of that nonsense and get to the entertaining stories.

Again, that is strict legal view, but in this litigious society, likelihood of an outcome is sufficient for most businesses to take evasive measures. If a 16 year old dies as a result of a race he was challenged to via an online forum, against someone whom he didn't know otherwise, trust me, motivated parents would file the site for everything it's worth. Juries look at such cases in a very black-or-white manner (no forum, no challenge, no race, no death...wrong as it may be). Money is a tremendous motivator.
Hope that explains it a bit.

ahh man.. streetracing and car forums go hand in hand.. car forums isn't a politically correct concept, imo.. it's a pool of crazy car nuts doing crazy stuff.. oh well.. life goes on i suppose
Kyle (Godzilla) didn't post an official explanation as to the reason why the forum was removed. From what I've seen, I wouldn't say it was removed because of "political correctness".
There have been discussions among the moderators several times in the past years about the problematic nature of the posts in that forum. Of all the individual forums, that one has probably generated more reported posts, locked threads and banned users than any other forum. Too many trolls, too many *****-measuring contests, lots of insults, etc.

I raced an EVO on the way home tonight, with no street racing forum. Bottom line, people are going to do it whether we have the section or not, and for the most part if was a entertaining area.
I love how this page is 6 pages long and at least 5 of those are people saying "good, street racing is so bad zomg!". Yeah, right. Most of you have done it at one time or another.
+1. And it said right under the link to the forum "We do not endores street racing". From now on I want every single forum about speeding locked and closed, because speeding is illegal. Also, I want hard proof that every picture of nude women posted in the AG section are indeed 18, because that is illegal.
Give me a freaking break. -1 for my350z.com
