And for the people who are gonna say "Well then why don't you go over there" I'll tell you to eat my ***. I've been here for 2 years now and made plenty of friends over here (Mid-A FTMFW), since before when I had my Z and even after trading it in for my Evo. The Street section was an extra "nicety" that I (and damn near everyone else) enjoyed. It wasn't the only reason for my existence here.

I like 350z's, good platform, good looks, good perfomance. I don't own one and thus I don't feel I have enough knowledge to contribute worthwhile info in the the mechanical sections. I could always go spew incorrect gibberish if you'd like. I'll admit I've posted in some threads that got out of hand in the street section, most of them LS1 threads because its where I have the most knowledge. Call me a fanboy if ya want, but I like reading about what alot of cars can do, hence why I stay in the drag and street sections. But my point still holds water, LS1tech has close to 100,000 members and yet has 2 mods that monitor their street section and they do a good job.
I think you should have tried better moderation before deleting the section. But its your site, and like I said if you wanted our opinions you would have asked for them before shutting it down.
It also nice to see the deicsion maker post in the thread.

Oh well. Its still fun to see how our car does against other cars from a stop up until 60MPH. I never exceed the speed limit because its against the the law, but they never said anything about how fast i can get up to that speed. =)
Prob good the forum was deleted...too many idiots out there racing 1/4 mile on the street. I do not however see anything wrong with a little stop light to stop light racing which is for the most part harmless. Hell, half the SUV's around here jackrabbit start from every light and thats with females driving them!!!

I still don't understand some of the logic being used here...
So you think they'll stop now because they can't post about it?

Give it time and "Street Racing" threads will start popping up....simplest solution really (logical) would have been to have some new moderators for that one section to keep it in control. Sooo simple. Every city has its "cruise night" and why do most people go....to catch a race or go watch a race...on the street. Many people don't have a track to go to...or like my track that is 30mins. away is crappy and would rather race on a street with no traffic. This sucks haha seeing it go...that would be my first forum to go to everytime i would log on...then i would go to through the rest of the site. You all should give it a shot...get 2 new moderators that want to keep the forum going and put them in charge.

I love racing just as much as the next guy but it should be done on the track not the Street and lately we are seeing more and more posts of people street racing and killing either inocent bystander or themself's hence the main reason its time to see it go away.
So take your street racing and kill stories somewhere else..

Ignorance is what kills. Education saves lives. When you eliminate an entire section and prevent a discussion of what happens during a race, "street racing" becomes mystified and all some kid has to go on is what they saw on Fast n Furious where one can crash their 350z over a cliff and walk away from it without endangering their life. With a good discussion, whoever is reading it will get the idea that its not that way in real life.
I know some smart-asses will say but that's just common sense..... but how do you suppose one gets "common sense"? "Common sense" is something that gets repeated over and over til one gets it ingrained in their head and THEN it becomes "common sense". If there is no discussion, then one will have to rely on "fast n furious" for their common sense when faced with a challenge to race. When the challenge comes up, its too late to think..... you either got the sense or you don't. So if the issue of street racing was never discussed, then its pedal-to-the-metal cuz the only reference point was the glamorous street racing that was shown in "fast n furious".
For example.......
There was a recent thread in the now defunct "street" section where some guy was in a race with his lil' brother and friend in the passenger seat. The guy who posted the story was so focused on "racing", he wrote about his "passengers" as a mere afterthought. It woulda been a cool story, BUT a few people noticed that he had "passengers" and called him out on that. Most everyone thought that sucked that he had "passengers" (2 in the passenger seat) while street racing. While I don't remember the exact words, the guy who wrote the story admitted that it was unsafe.
As far as I'm concerned, several lives were saved because of that post. The "passengers" who might be riding with him in the future, the guy himself, and people reading the story. THE "STREET" SECTION SAVES LIVES!!
After reading something like that, its information that stays inside your head. So when a similar situation is encountered, those that were educated about that scenario will have options to decide what to do and knowing that their actions will affect their loved ones, they will choose to back off the gas pedal.
That's how a "street" section saves lives. People will point out the dangers and "argue" a bit and maybe get a bit childish at times, but in the end, the person who is thinking about "street racing" will be much more aware knowing the dangers involved.
Had there not been a "street" forum, that guy would still be oblivious of his actions that threaten the lives of his loved ones in the passenger seat cuz of his tunnel vision. He woulda went on doing it again. The people who commented in the thread expanded his perception of his driving enviroment and he now is more aware and will drive safer because of it.
Just think about how many teenage mothers got pregnant cuz they didn't werent' educated enough to consider options so they just went with their emotions? Its the same with "street racing". If one never had a forum to discuss what really happens during a street race, then you'll just go with your emotions and ego and risk life and limb.
OMG, +1,000,000 at this post!

If people are educated about what really happens during a street race, they will think twice and have more options to consider before they start layin' rubber.
