Monday Night Football
A guy took his girlfriend to her first football game. Afterward he asked her how she liked the game.
"I liked it, but I couldn't understand why they were killing each other for 25 cents, " she said.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"Well, everyone kept yelling, 'Get the quarter back!'"

you guys are Vietnamese and you are complaining about some mang cau? come on man, US has made some of you soft
What about tiet canh? the coagulated duck blood with duck meat, imagine fruit in jello but with duck and blood
the whole blood thing throws people off but its my favorite beer snack. the duck eggs is a different story though, the juice is good but the old folks like the big and more devoloped ones where you can make out all the parts and starting to have bones and beak that crunch when you bite down on it
the really undeveloped ones are fine though since they don't look/feel like anything

Tiet Canh, hmmm...my parents use to eat that stuff with their friends all the time untill they found out that you can get disease from the duck blood. I don't know if its true or not but its been over 10yrs since they or their friends eaten it. Conjealed blood sounds nasty, I learned that its actually called blood jello, a nicer name...I guess. I eat that in my bun bo hue or just with nguc mum and rice.
yeah im pretty sure you could get some disease from the duck... those farms don't look too sanitary. Huyet is the stuff in bun bo hue, its pork blood, i can't eat that stuff cause it feels funny against your teeth
tiet canh tastes totally different though, the blood isn't quiet as solid as huyet... more like runny jello, doesn't really taste like anything cause you mostly taste the nuoc mam
I've tried the duck blood jello (tiet canh), and I didn't like it.
That is some heavy duty stuff. What is bun bo hue? I've probably had it before but didn't know what it was...
Bun Bo Hue is a noodle soup but not Pho. It has slices of beef, huyet, gha, and should come with a pig's feet. In terms of leaves, it should come with rau ram, slices of the banana flower pedals and your other basic vegies. The liquid is also more spicy than Pho and the noodle are round not flat. The best thing to do if you want to find out is just go order yourself a bowl. You'll like it!
Pics of rau ram: Also, Rau ram is commonly known as "Vietnamese Clintro" or "Vietnamese Coriander" but if you go to Hawaii, its called........."rau ram"!

Pics of Bun Bo Hue....So hungry now.

Damn I'm up here in Vancouver BC right now and went to a Pho Hoa (yes the same franchise that's everywhere in the Bay Area) and they have Bun Bo Hue on the menu! I chickened out though as I was sooooo hungry. Nothing worse than a bad bowl of Bun Bo. But since their Pho was decent I will try it next time!
An old guy in his Volvo is driving home from work when his wife rings him on his carphone. "Honey", she says in a worried voice, "be careful. There was a bit on the news just now, some lunatic is driving the wrong way down the freeway".
"It's worse than that", he replies, "there are hundreds of them!"

Went back to Pho Hoa in Vancouver (Burnaby) tonight and tried the Bun Bo Hue. It was pretty good! Not as good as the joint that used to be on 4th street in San Jose but nothing to complain about. It didn't have the blood cubes or pork hock though, but that's only worth a minor deduction as the broth was pretty damn good.
Probablly a different pho hoa in denver but the chain I was talking about is this one.
