i currently work at best buy in CarFi... trust me when i say this.
1)that is one of the best alarms you can get.
2)stay away from audiovox alarms
3)if u get it installed, make sure u tell ur insurance company.
in most cases, it will lower 5-10%

MOST any professional place will tell you know unless they can somehow make a sensor for the transmission to where it will only start in neutral. its a liability thing.
remote start + car in gear = not good.

Unless you really need remote start, seems like a weird thing to do for security :
A) You have to leave the car in neutral if you want this to work.
B) They have to install a device or hide a key near the ignition to disable the key chip security.
So you are going to install an alarm and disable the key chip security that comes with the car??
I have the xv790, extremely happy with it, didn't even try to install the remote start.

Any real advantage to these alarms over factory besides remote start? and the 2-way thing so u know someone is breaking into your car (if it even works from far away?) ya thats a good question. How far on average does the 2 way part work? Lets say your in the mall and your alarm goes off will the 2 way thing know it? Is there any other reason to get this alarm? Will it make it harder for someone to get into your car without the alarm going off? PROS and CONS of getting this kind of alarm system would be nice
Thanks
Thanks
I have same alarm and love it but I think best thing I did for security was 3 Pizzo sirens, You break in my car you will be deaf and bleeding out your ears before you can take even the faceplate off my deck
seriously they are invaluable, except if it goes off and you alarm key fob battery dies

Never thought of that, almost reverse psycology of an alarm system. NICE... I got mod in the mind now, i might just jump over to the JCWhitney site, an order a Dual Trumpet Air-Horn @ 117db “big rig” blast. That should be sufice.

Well the advantages are obvious!
- Huge remote hanging off the keychain, almost pulls your pants down when inserted in your pockets...
- Viper stickers all over the car, also good as a HP mod!
- Remote also eats batteries at will...
- Everybody asks "what the heck is that??!!"
- It unlocks the doors at a distance, just like your key FOB.
I mean, whats not to like??
Oh, oh, and the very best, you can put on your sig that you have a Viper 790xv!! (See bellow)...

the factory key FOB works at a distance? 10feet doesnt COUNT!
How often do u have to replace your key fob battery? Seems like the LCD screen would take up lots of battery power. But i remote start would own..

maybe mine is defective. No way ill even get close to getting it working 50feet away... even in a flat area in direct view. Furthest it will work is like 20-30feet and most of the time its less than that
anyways is this the best alarm for the money? cost abought $200-$250. Seems most people like it

Actually, the guys that installed mine said that it had few channels, so they wired the door locks and the back hatch but I don't have "roll down windows"... They said that a Clifford would have more channels and would be able to do more.
But they could just be trying to sell me the Clifford.
