Default OMG My Sound System Never Sounded Better

HI Everyone!

Just came back from picking up my car after an audio install...and boy have i suffered from almost 2 years of horrible bose sound non-quality.

I was speechless!!! I could not contain myself...I felt like i was 6 again when i got the first atari on my block...stunned disbelief.

I must tell you guys if you love music, then you must change your factory system. There is a GARGANTUAN difference in sound quality...in one word...EXCEPTIONAL!

The audio shop installed:
ALPINE 9835 HU (awesome HU...must read manual over X-mas)
ALPINE SPX-177R Fronts (installer said he will now recommend to future customers to install these in the 350's...i was the first to get one installed
JL Audio 300/2 Amp to power the SPX
ALPINE SWX-1042 (Incredible Bass...Awesome carbon fiber look)
JL Audio 500/1 Amp to power the SWX
American International NDK-740 Radio Install Kit for 9835 HU

I am so happy i can

Sounds great. I have one thing to say about the comment about no pictures. Take a look at my first thread I ever posted this summer. I had pics and no replies. At least post a reply if you look at the post people.

Did the installer say there was any cutting involved to get the SPX-177 installed in the front doors. I have that set in my RSX-S and I had to cut a lot of the door to make them fit properly. Can't wait to see the pics.

everything including install and sub-box was a little under $2700.

i know you can get the components cheaper...but i wanted to get the manufacturer's warranty/

9835 $449
JL 500/1 $549
JL 300/2 $429
SWX $399
SPX $399
Box + Labor $390 (The best deal out there! 8 hrs for $240...)
Misc (wires, amp kit, dynamat, etc.) $120
And of course TAX at 8.75%

NOTE: All components were discounted 10% because I got the entire system from their store.

there was NO cutting involved...instead there was a custom spacer made that repositioned the speakers more towards the center of the speaker grill. The system is completely STEALTH which was extremely important to me and my auto insurance. The installer said that there is even a little bit more clearance from the speaker grill when compared to the stock set up. Even the TWEETERS fit in the oem tweeter compartment...no cutting, glueing, etc. was necessary.

autosound in palatine (but i think they changed names in the yellow pages or something...telephone number is 847 359-5121

(MIKE installed mine...awesome guy.) If you are serious in buying a lot of stuff there, they are willing to negotiate price...like they did with me.

I have the same HU Zenvy and just got my infinity perfects installed w/ JL 300/4 amp. How are your settings on your HU as far as Time correction and crossover? Just curious because I noticed my components have plenty of highs that it can hurt your ears. lol

curious, i was looking into your Alpine Type X sub you bought and it says it runs at 1000watts RMS, so why did you get a 500 watts rms amp?

Good ?

The answer is that 1000 watts rms is the Handling Capacity. The rms range is 500-1000 watts so my 500 rms watt amp will work just fine.

you're absolutely right about the highs on some songs hurting your ears. i don't know about the cross overs yet...still fiddling around with settings (actually getting around to reading the manual in depth...but it's not too informative).

However, my time correction is 1.2 ms for the front left speaker with 0 ms for the front right speaker. I'm 5'7" just to give you some reference. I don't have any rear speakers...my front components and sub make for an amazing listening experience...the amps don't hurt also.
