I've been looking into that Alpine Type X subwoofer and I'm very impressed by what i have read about it. Have you heard other subs such as Elemental Designs, Image Dynamics, and JL audio? I was wondering how the Type X compared to most others? I mean is it in the JL 10w7 Range?

Under the rear tower bar (i believe that's what it's called)...i will take pictures once my car is washed and stuff...sometime early next week...it's bitter cold over here...single digits!!

 

i haven't heard about ED, ID but i did listen to the 10w7 at the same install shop. It's very good, but i don't think the several hundred dollar difference between the typeX and JL is worth it.

many people have said the typeX stinks and stuff, and that it doesn't sound good...the install guy said most boxes that the sub is placed in at audio shops are not optimal...why would the install guy put one in his own car?! point is, the typeX is a kick a$$ sub that sounds great with a 500W JL amp and even better with a 1000W, but i'm afraid it'll break my window .
