We charge about 20-40 bucks at Circuit City to hardwire most radar detectors

i hardwired a bel980 in my car, and it only cost like $15 bucks for the wire, the inline fuse holder, and the fuses. since i did it myself there was no labor. it's very easy to do on your own. took my a total of like 13 minutes start to finish.

^^^Ditto that...^^^ Its to easy. I wouldn't pay anyone to hardwire a radar. Just stare at what your dealing with and it will all come together!

It cost me about $.50 for about 6" of phone cord....

If you do a search you need to hook the red/green wire of the phone cord to two wires into the back of the mirror, i cant remember which ones go where, it should take you no more than 15 minutes to do

or if you dont want to cut into the wires behind the mirror you can just run a wire up by the headliner, then down the a piller on the driver side, and down to the fuse box and just connect the wire to a fuse (i used the fuse for the rearview mirror). i did that to avoid cutting any wires.

$0 with any radar detector.

Cut off the cig lighter... red goes to acc, and black or white goes to the ground. Put a fuse in if you feel like it and you are done.

Default Radar Install

I've got the stealth install that I found somewhere on this forum - paid a shop about $200 to handle it (that included an install of 2 head units. I'm not really a "do it yourselfer", so I was happy with it.

see the hidden display above the rearview mirror

Stupid question. Where is the internal fuse box in the Z? I can't seem to find that sucker.

it's on the left side under the dash on the drivers side. there is a cover panel that unclips and reveals the fuses.
