Ordered new headunit... question about iPod into Aux-in
Hey all,
I just placed an order for my new headunit to replace my stock upgraded Bose 6cd changer. I went with the Sony CDX-F7705X that has an aux-in RCA connector (white/red) on the back of it. I was just wondering, for those of you who connect your iPod to your headunit directly (w/o the Alpine interface), do you still use the Belkin power adapter/built in amp, and just get a 3.5mm to RCA red/white from radio shack to connect the iPod sound into the headunit?
Thanks!

I use the Belkin adapter because the volume level straight from the iPod is low. The Belkin adapter also gives power to the iPod, and you can adjust the volume to your liking without changing the HU volume control, so when you change to CDs or radio you don't get a nasty surprise (like really loud music since you had it cranked up for the iPod).

Still low impedance, It's line level gain.
Make sure the volume on the Ipod itself is at 1/2 each time before you connect the ipod.
Attach it with the dial on the belkin all the way down.
Turn your head unit volume up to 1/2 and then adjust the belkin dial to where it is comfortable listening volume.
