Default rca output question

my Rockford Fosgate RFX-8250 that I plan on installing only has 2 rca outputs and no internal amplification. I will be powering the system by a soundstream rubicon 555. My question is, can I just run a splitter off the rear channel rca's to my amplifier's sub input or do I need some kind of output converter? TIA

Subs normally have their own channel. Not an expert but every car stereo I've ever done anything with has had it's own channel for the sub.

You don't need to run a splitter off the rear channel. Connect your front and rear RCAs from the 8250 to the Channel 1/2 and 3/4 inputs on the Rubicon 555.

Then set the Subwoofer Channel Select on the 555 to Channel 1-4. That will route audio signal internally in the amp to the subwoofer channel. Set your Low Pass Crossover frequency for the sub channel, adjust your input gains and you should be all set.

Nah, just been at this car audio stuff for a very long time.

SimplyJ, great choice for a headunit. Just kills me that I missed out when Soundomain had them on closeout. What a steal that was.

What speakers are you going to use?

i have a set of boston acoustics pro 6.5 components for the front, and ba 6.5 pro drivers for the rear, still haven't bought the sub yet.

Thanks, I was looking for this headunit for a while. I actually have a 8240 laying around that I'll prob end up throwing on ebay. I bought it when I couldn't find an 8250 anywhere, but 2 weeks after I received it I found a brand new 8250 for sale.
