Default A simple audio/bass upgrade

Like the title says, i'm just looking for a simple bass upgrade. Nothing too crazy or expensive. Currently have the bose system. Sorry, audio newb here, but could i just add an amp and a sub and be done with it? No buying a new headunit, or changing out the speakers. I was thinking about getting the basslink as other have, but i thought the bass might be a little underwhelming.

Can anyone recommend a decent, and fairly cheap 10 inch sub and amp combo. My budget is $400, but it doesn't all have to be spent

Another reason i'm not going to a more expensive route is because it seems that my ears aren't as perceptive as others. It's hard for me to notice a difference in sound clarity compared to other people, unless it's significantly obvious of course. So to me, it might be a waste of money to buy something just a little better. To notice a difference, i'd probably need top of the line stuff. Hell, even the bose sounds decent to me

You sound liky my dad. I spent about $3,500 for a new stereo system and he thinks the BOSE sounded better! I was like, "WTF?" I hear an extreme difference mainly in the seperation of sounds instead of blending together to what sounded almost like MONO. He also thinks the $150 surround sound I have in my living room sounds better than the $2,000 one that he bought.

Oh yea, I forgot...you'll have to buy a unit that allows non-bose components to interact with the factory BOSE ones.

I would go bass link behind the drivers seat and replace that panel with the OEM bose one for venting. If you can find a local shop that sells the Infinity Basslink (msrp $300) I bet you can get it installed and maybe some dynomatting for $400 total.

You will need a single amp wiring kit which will run about $20 or so.

The bose pannel is about $10 your local nissan dealer may have them.

Thanks for your help guys. I think putting the basslink in the stock location is good. Another question though, how important is dynomatting the area? Is this a step i would not want to skip? thanks again.
