I think you missed the fact that the AVN5435 has been upgraded with 5 volt outputs. I believe that your unit has 0.8V outputs (correct me if I'm wrong). Also, ESN security has been added... the AVN2454 doesn't have any anti-theft features. The volume control was moved to the left side of the unit to make it easier for the driver to reach. Finally, the AVN5435 is Sirius satellite radio ready. Plus, the MSRP will be lower!!!

it used to be the other way around. 5435 has only one slot for dvd/mp3/cd
but it has 30gb harddrive built in. 10 gb is used by nav system and the other 20 is for music. they said its alot faster navigating than dvd based nav units. also it has memorystick slot but i don't know what that for.
it also seems a bit better interface design in the system.
hope this helps...
can't wait to see the actual product...

I think that you are confusing the AVN5495 with the AVN5435. The AVN5435 is basically an upgraded AVN2454. The AVN5495, however, is the unit with a built in harddrive. All of these model numbers are confusing!!!

i already checked out that link but that guy is selling his used 2454 at 1800 which is higher than the new unit price quote i got.
i don't think its worth it. if i'm looking for 2454 i wouldn't pay over 1400-1500.

Reason i ask is because when my bro had his 2454 installed on his g35 he had to get a double din dash from japan.

has anyone installed one of these eclipse double din units and installed a screen in the nav cubby hole? I know that is probably over kill, but that big hole bugs me. I think it would be cool if you could send the nav part of the eclipse to the screen mounted in the nav cubby hole, while having the stereo functions displayed on the eclipse unit...or some combo of that.
thanks.
thanks.
