What is a good price for the avn5435?

 

I got mine for $1780 shipped... obviously on eBay. Authorized retailers want sick amounts of money for it

unit came with 3 books + manual + limited warranty form + much more... but like you said before... that warranty may not be valid only because the seller wasn't an authorized retailer for US ... Can just hope I wont be need it...

About Unexpected Creations installer... he asked me to call tomorrow morning... and then I'll get to setup exact time...
If he's booked for next couple fo days I'm gonna have to find something else...

Nope, I only go to him cause his prices are great. He's also a great guy and knows his stuff. Besides, a HU install takes less then 30min. I don't trust anyone in Queens to work on my car. I've seen this guys work and it's clean. Again, GREAT PRICES. I'm going back to him for the FOURTH time now, first was Eclipse HU, second was speakers, third was for alarm and this time for sound deadening. I highly recommend him to ALL my friends and people looking for installs.

 

Can you post some pics of the unit installed and the graphic screens?

 

no...I don't want the eclipse unit in the cubby hole, just a flat screen. I want the eclipse unit mounted in the factory radio location, and an additional screen in the cubby...Thougts?

You could do that with a Xenarc or Lilliput assuming the AVN54X5 does the video out properly. I'd like to know the same thing as I would prefer to have the Nav displayed on the upper screen eventually.
Anyone know if the Eclipse unit can do the video out to properly implement this ?

 

I don't think you can have Nav on one screen and watch movies on the other. The best thing would be to call an authorized Eclipse dealer. Call my installer (post #27) and ask him the questions. But remember, HE CANNOT SHIP ECLIPSE PRODUCTS!!!!!!

He might be working on someones car. Leave him a voicemail or call him tomorrow....although he might not be able to speak tomorrow.

 

I'm no expert but I think you could have the screen in the cubby attached to the head unit as if it was a rear seat screen and it could work that way. If that works you also wouldn't have to worry about the video while moving work arounds, since most all-in-one DVD/nav head units can output the DVD to a rear screen while in motion.

 

Best thing, call Eclipse and ask them.

 

i got a quote for avn 5435.

i currently have a bose system. they're authorized dealer and quote me 1875 installed before tax.
1725 parts (avn unit/dash kit/harnness) + 5%tax (86.25) +150 installation charge.=1961.25 include tax.

it seems good deal to me. i'm getting it this week or next week.

 

Show us a pic when its done! I plan on getting one next month for my QX4.

 

Noooo, that is to much. If you can make a trip to NJ, go to my dealer!!! That price for installation is to much.

i use my ipod to play mp3 most of time.
i dont think i need headunit with harddrive buil-in.
(also i don't think they released it yet)
