Searched for Hours with no results...Looking for help in bypassing bose amp..
I searched the forums several times with no luck, I am looking to install a new head unit in my Touring, I understand it is fairly easy to bypass the bose amp by directly connecting the inputs to the factory amp to the outputs, my question is, does anyone know what the wire colors are for the inputs and outputs? I assume the only wires that need to be connected are the inputs and out puts for the LF+-, RF+-, LR+-, RR+- speakers, I plan on replacing all the speakers and temporarily running them off of the head unit power until i can afford a 4 channel amp
Any help would be great, lookin to do the install this weekend
Thanks in advance

You don't need to bypass the Bose factory amps to use an aftermarket headunit. My headunit was purchased from Crutchfield and using their supplied wiring harness, I was able to upgrade from 6 cd changer in my 2003 touring to the new headunit, and still have full use of my subwoofer and amplified Bose speakers, all running off the factory amps.

You may need a line output converter to make your new head unit work well with the bose equipment. An audiolink powerdriver pd4 will work great.
I had my new head unit hooked up for a couple of months like this. It's well worth the $$$s to buy new amps and speakers and get rid of all the bose.

Well, I just decided to try and wire everything up today, and to my surprise everything works fine, sound clarity is infinitly improved over stock, I guess i will keep it this way unless something goes wrong
However, the Metra dash kit = teh suck

Can you explain in more detail what you did?
I am ready to install new HU, speakers, and 4x amp. Can I just disconnect the Bose amp and connect the new amp through that harness to get juice to the speakers? I am trying to get around running new speaker wires.
I am so confused......Bose has got chasing my tail here.

I didn't actually change any speakers or add any amps, I just removed the factory unit and installed an aftermarket head unit, the new head unit runs through the bose amp
