Default Kenwood Excelon DDX7015

I like this unit alot after comparing them to the in-dash units. Has anybody put this in the nav compartment area? Is it possible? Also, how hard is it to get the thing to play movies/games while your driving. I've read about the hand brake grounding, but I just wanted to know if other people have this head unit and know how to bypass that and if its possible to install in factory nav compartment.

Thanks!

Do a search on DDx7015 as I did and you will find all the posts to help you out.
It will cut down on repeat posts. My HU looks great!! Very happy with it.

hey dave how did you get the pics of your z on the radio? And man you have got to get the nav system with the voice kit. It is so awesome! I love it. It was pretty easy to install as well. I would like to know how to get some pics of my car on there like yours though. The background graphics from kenwood suck. thanks

Well this is my situation. I'm moving my audio system from my Cavalier to my 350 which includes 300/4 and 1000/1 JL amps, 12w7, and the top of the line Eclipse head unit with 8-volt preouts(i like sound quality). The thing is I also want this excelon...its really nice.

I just wonder how I can fill the nav compartment. I was hoping to fit the excelon in the nav compartment and use it for NAV/DVD/PS2 and use my existing Eclipse 8062 HU for CDs/MP3s.

Its just a bummer having that thing in the middle of the console...now if I only had stock navigation it would solve my problems lol. Anybody know how much stock navigation is after you already got the car?

Any good ideas on how to fill the nav compartment otherwise would be helpful.

Thanks

the nav system cannot be purchased separately. Unless you order it with the Z you cannot get it. You can get the alpine nav system with the TME-770 monitor which will be about 2300.00 all together (retail) There are other systems too but the kenwood that I have now is the best I have ever seen. It is all touchscreen and voice activated. I love it. Does anyone know if kenwood makes a 7" monitor? Also if it is touchscreen?
