Default Wiring Question

I have mounted my sub, and ran most of the wires for my amp, but I have a couple questions before I can finish -

On a Non-bose 350z - does anyone know the colors/pin locations of the remote turn on wire and the rear + and - speakers on the head unit wiring harness?

Also, since there is so little slack in those wires, can anyone pass on any words of wisdom how to safely/easily splice into those wires?

Last, does anyone know of any instructions for replacing the glove box cover with the factory bose driver side speaker cover?

I appreciate everyone's help so far - could not have gotten this far without it.

I just pulled my stereo out. I had the non bose stereo and have added an aftermarket with harness. My new harness luckily was still marked. My amp turn on wire ran into the factory small white plastic connector and linked with the Green wire with yellow stripe. So the Green wire with yellow stripe should be it. I have attached a pic of the wire.

hope this helps

Hi
Just got home.

These are in the small white connector like the amp on wire.
rear
Left + dark yellow or mustard color almost brown (its a funky color)
Left - black with red stripe
Right + light blue
Right - pink

You are a great help. After I figure out how to run the power wire through the firewall, I should be totally good to go.

If you remove the battery cover and the other plastic pieces on the passenger side of the engine compartment by the windshield there is the factory harness and gromet. I cut a small hole in the gromet and push the power wire thru and it came out right at the passengers feet area in the car. After I ran the cord I siliconed the wire at the gromet to seal it.

have a good one

I have already ran the power wire on the driver's side. Any ideas on how to get that thing ran through the firewall on the driver's side and over to the battery?

You don't want to do that. The power wire should be short as possible and you don't need an extra 6 feet in your engine bay. I suggest you Re-run down the passenger side. Keep the driver side for RCA's or speaker wire.

Wow! This was definitely the most time consuming/difficult install I have ever done.

Thanks again for all the help. I would have given up long ago if I didn't have all the instructions off this forum.

I ended up installing a Pioneer 254-F free air sub in the stock location, dynamatting the hell out of the rear compartment (practically enclosed), and installing the amp in the glove box. The sub hits really hard and is a great addition to the system. I was able to out-do the $1,000 Bose system for about $450.00.

I went with David Navone's line out converter. That thing is amazing. It truly puts out a clean, high voltage signal (9v).

All of the instructions I received on the wiring diagram of the stock wiring harness were a little fuzzy. I ended up wiring the ACC wire to the green/white wire on the large plug. I believe that is the wire next to the larget yellow power wire.

As for the small plug and rear speakers, everyone's color scheme was a little off. All my wires were two colors and one of the two colors matched up with your description. For example, where you said the wire was pink, mine was pink and black?

Also, I never saw a green/yellow wire back there. I ended up using the green/white.

Nevertheless, the install is complete, and I am amazed the panels went back together as well as they did. Not one piece broke!

Thanks again for the help.
