Also, like I mentioned earlier, the '03 assembly pocket is a separate piece from the door. So, it just unbolts and you can remove it, leaving you with a big hole where the pocket used to be. The '04 assembly is all one piece, requiring you to cut it away. That's just a pain, and it doesn't result in anywhere near as much useable space as an '03 gives you.
I'm not sure of how they improved the '04.5+ interior over the '03 and early '04 models, but is the door and trim the same material as the '05? It's got that like gridded meshy looking type texture on the entire dash and doors, etc.
I wouldn't want to change out the whole nav compartment assembly if it will look mismatched with the current interior.
Also, isn't the nav door in the '03s like clunky and has a problem with something. I can't remember, but I do recall reading something about it.
Overall, do you think its worth the effort?

The '04 door hinge support mechanism goes down the sides, so you can't trim much plastic away from the sides before you hit that. On the '03 assembly, though, the door slides up into the top, so the entire door support mechanism is on *top* of the box. This means the sides are completely unblocked.

I am ordering the 03 parts (2 pcs) right now from Performance NIssan dot com. they sell it for 75.00 and the dealership sells it for 130.00
Thank You
I purchased the Dynamix from their web site, they were extremly fast when shipping, and great people their too (called them on sizes and numbers). The screen I picked up was 275.00 it looks awsome, it has VGA, video 1 and 2- so 3 applications can be ran through it, just a great picture, package, price etc.. I could'nt be happier. played xbox through it at work for a couple hours, then watched 2 movies, took it home and plugged it in to my server
I also purchased the 03 cubby from performance nissan and they packaged it and shipped it an hour after I called them... cudos A++

I asked this question before, but didn't get a reply.
If you do the '05 to '03 nav compartment swap, is there a difference between the type of dashboard material between the two?
I know they updated the '04.5 and up with different interiors, but I just wanted to make sure if I did the swap (which I really want to do badly) then will it look dumb and mismatched??
TIA

OEM Finisher for Cluster Lid 2003 350Z (68410CD000)
As far hooking up your PS2, most screens will have a standard composite video input. Easy. Hooking up sound is another matter, and will be completely dependent on your head unit. My Alpine headunit has an auxilary audio input which I used for my PS2. However, on Alpine headunits you have to get the AInet audio input adapter to make that work. It's a relatively cheap part you can find at any Alpine dealer, but you have to have it nonetheless. Other brands of headunits will differ. If your headunit doesn't have an aux input, you'll have to use one of those FM modulators that transmit the PS2's sound via FM, and you tune it in via your radio. Those are also very common. Your local car audio shop should probably stock some of those, or they can be found on the net at most good car audio retail sites.
As far as where to put your PS2... c'mon man, you have to decide on some of this yourself.
There are lots of places you can stash it. It's up to you. (Hint: Many people use the big storage box behind the passenger seat since it has so much room.)
