Default if money was not an issue?

if money was not an issue, what kind of stuff would you guys/gals put inside your Z? and by money not being an issue, i still need to keep it reasonable , i'm not going to spend like 100,000 on my Z's interior.

basically i haven't been into cars for a while ( went to streetbikes ) so I don't really now what kind of stuff is out now, and i'd like to get some ideas on what to do to my Z when i get it. I know i'm going to want to install the best NAV system i can and a second screen up front for dvds, maybe a flip-out? then of course new speakers, a sub/amp, i want it to be one sub/amp to keep wheight down.

I also want to keep it clean,so i'm thinking of installing everything so that it's all hidden or can be hidden

If money weren't an issue the only things I'd change are my amp to a 3 amp setup, a set of components in the kickpanels, update my sub and maybe add 1 more, and add some processing.

Current setup:
Boston Reference Z6 components (stock woofer positing and tweets in the kickpanels) - $1000
Boston 5T Neo Ambient Tweeters (stock tweeter location) - $150
Boston Pro 10.5F Subwoofer - $200
Eclipse 8053 16V HU - $500 HU & $100 for 16V balanced line adaptor
XTANT X603 3 channel amp - $1000
Stinger Expert Series wires/gauges/terminals - $300-500

Basically add another grand for kickpanel speakers, $600 for subs, and $3k for new amps (xtant, Zapco, Boston or McIntosh would be the leading canidates).

If you only want one amp you'll need a 5ch. to power everything.
Tkae out your spare and fiberglass your subs/amp(s) into it. That or you can sink them into the floor and keep all your trunk space. That is what I am planning to do this summer when I get some time. Real easy project. Should only take a day or two to make but I have to go find supplies and stuff.
Flip out screen in the dash for movies and a farenheit screen in the NAV compartment for you Navigation system. If you wanted you could put both on the pup-out touch screen but I assume you want movies and NAV on at the same time.

If money was not an issue I would do the following

Headunit Alpine IVA-D901
Amps: US Amps TU-4360 4 ch (75X4 RMS at 4 ohms)
US Amps USA-2000 2 Ch (2000 watts RMS at 2 ohms bridged or 1328 watts rms bridged to 3 ohms)

Front stage: JL Audio ZR650Csi

Rear stage: JL Audio ZR650Csi

Subwoofer: Eclipse SW9102 in a custom under bar box (2 10" subs)

Wire and interconnects: All Monster Cable

Power: Optima Yellow Top up front One Monster 1 Farad cap per amp.

For install one of our board members here jimrhit can do some VERY nice custom work on your car install. (He designs speakers and enclosures for Pioneer as a job) I would mount both amps in a custom enclosure in the spare tire well and mount the two subs in a box under the rear strut bar.

money not an option?

Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.4
Phoenix Gold Xenon 1200.1 X 2
Phoenix Gold Titanium Elite 6.5 components
Phoenix Gold Titanium Elite 9 mid bass drivers
Phoenix Gold Titanium Elite 12d
Phoenix Gold EQ230ix

Eclipse AVN-5494

Fiber glass the 9s into the doors. Fiber glass kick panels for the 6.5 components

Sink the 3 amps into the floor and supply them with 0 gauge. Upgrade the alternator to 250 Amp output.

This system would be loud and would win SQ comps with the propper tuning

Price tag?

$6,000 for the components
another few thousand for install

I pretty much got my dream system. Missing a few things that I may install later.

HU: Clarion DXZ945MP
Center Ch: Boston Acoustics Pro 4.5
Components: Boston Acoustics Z6
Rear: Boston Acoustics SL65
Sub: 3x JL Audio 10W6V2
Amps: 3x Xtant 1.1i; 3x Xtant 3.1
Monitor: Clarion VMA7194
Modded Xbox with 80+ games on 250GB drive.

I'm looking for a solution for more mid-bass. Like what Ahsmo has done. Also thinking about a double-din HU.

Dan,

I can make you something interesting.

I have a 7" touschscreen in the factory nav spot hooked to a carputer/nav/mp3 server. Premier 860MP, Pheonix Gold M44i, Klipsch Audio Cerametallic mids, 1" Titanium 60x90 tractrix horns (fiberglassed in the kicks) and some 12s in the rear.

If you want custom ... let me know ... I have good hookups and tons of ideas for you, plus, I install

I find this thread to be very interesting, especially in retrospect to "Nice audio a waste in a noisy car?" thread in this forum. Just to clear things up, I am not being sarcastic, simply wondering how much of sound fidelity one really needs in this car.

Focal Utopia 165W3 and zapco amps. Went with a JL W7 sub. That was the setup I went with and I love it.

Dude for weight considerations I would get one Alpine SWX woofer and put it in a full plexiglass box under the strut that slants back to the seats and then a MASSIVE mono amp to it. Then I would just be my own hero.
