Installing new head unit
I am looking to get just a regular mp3/cd player until I can afford the Kenwood DVD player that I want. Well just a couple of questions I need to ask you guys about before installing it. Where can I buy the Metra kit, I heard it was the best kit for the Z. And where can I get the wiring harness? And one last question, I have the Bose speakers on my car and want to know if the speakers will work with my aftermarket head unit. And since I have the 8" OEM sub in the back, how do I get that working at all? Is there an external amp somewhere or is the amp built in the stock cd player? Thanks in advance!

You can buy the metra kit from any place like circuit city, best buy, etc. You can buy the wiring harness at any of these places also. All the amps I believe in the bose system are external (correct me if I am wrong someone) You will also want to run new speaker wires to the speakers with the bose system. I believe you can still use the factorys amps but I think the HU's power will be better off than the bose. Dont even worry about connecting to the door speakers off the factory wiring harness. Just run the doors off the new HU power. Run new wires. Follow this link on how to run wires in the Z:

crutch will give you the wiring harnesses to solder onto the wires from the head unit. Then its just a matter of slipping on the harness. Its pretty useful that way too when you go to put the factory head unit back in for what ever reason. Just slip it in and plug the harness back up. No problem.
