Default amp in the pocket behind the passenger seat. any downside?

my amp, nine.1 is little too big to fit in the glove compartment behind the passenger seat, so i was playing around with it and decided to just keep it in the pocket behind the passenger seat. it fits in there very tight, and is as stealthy as being in the glove box. no heat issues, easy install.

any downside you guys can think of about this idea?

no. it just that the acess to the fule pump is directly under where you are wanting to mont the amp. so i wouldent get to permenent with your mounting and be carefull when grounding your amp run the ground off to the side and use a short screw making shure not to hit the gas tank, good luck

Shouldn't be a problem... lots of us mount our amps in there.

Mine is mounted on a removable amp rack, so as gsi mentioned, I can get to the fuel pump if needed. The grounding is on a ground block in the glove box, secured to one of the metal tabs sticking down in the compartment. No drilling near the gas tank needed.

I have a nine.1 and a nine.2 in that pocket, running both for about a month now and no problems. Only down side is not showing off such classy looking amps.

I put my amp in there with a shelf similar to neur0sis, for the back though I used a 170mm long bolt with some fender washers to hang the back end of the shelf.

The passenger and drivers sides of this compartment are all connected, if you have power to the passenger side you can easily pass it though to the drivers side.

As far as getting the power through from the passenger side, to the drivers side, I did this:

The fuse block for power and ground in the glove box "secret compartment" and ran the two 8ga leads through one of the several holes in the bracing between the compartments. No problems at all!

I really need to get around to installing my 6500's, I got them from the PRE-order, but have been switching cars ever since I got em. Only listned to them for like 2 days before I took them out and sold my old car.
I love my nine.1 thing is built like a tank and sound is awesome with it ran to a single 12v.2. I do miss those flat cone 12a's though.
