need help with system and stock hu =(
hey guys, so i got my kicker 10" and kx 550.2 installed on my 04 g35 coupe running on a stock hu and i have the bose amp. the system hits but it hits poorly. i know the kicker can do 80% better than wt is bumping. can anyone help? maybe on how to bridge the wires? or how or where should the converter be connected? or anything? by the way the sub is a 4ohm dual and the amp specs is bridged rms @ 4ohms at 550w x1. ANY ANY help would be greatly appreciated. i tried using the search but found things i dont think concerns this matter. thank you
1. I'm a little confused. Are you running the factory Bose amp or do you have a separate amp?
2. If you are running an aftermarket amp that is rated 4ohms at 550w x1, you will not be able to configure your sub with that type of load.
3. a DVC sub that has two 4ohm coils can only be configured as a 2ohm load or an 8ohm load. Meaning, if you wire the coils in series with eachother you'll drop an 8ohm load. If you wire them in parallel, you'll drop a 2ohm load. If the amp is not stable at 2ohms, it will fry.
I tried running my stereo off the factory HU in the beginning. It was too dificult trying to match impedances and getting cross induced voltage out of my audio signals. Got tired of it and bought aftermarket amps and HU.
Hope this helps.
