Hehe. Honestly, I think the Focal's that my wife had in her last car were the best speakers I've ever heard. Not much bass but the clarity was phenominal.

But the aesthetics are just as important as the function so the colors need to work together.

Here's some amp choices assuming you want to stay around the same price and the Pheonix Gold X200.4.

PG X200.4
Power: 400x2 @ 2ohm (14.4V)
Price: List - $750 (I'll use list since so many places have so many different sales)

Xtant Xtant4.4
Power: 200x2 @ 4ohm (14.4V), 400x2@ 2 ohm (14.4V)
Price: List - $549

Boston GT-24
Power 350x2 @ 2ohm (14.4V)
Price: List - $699 ($525 at woofersetc.com)

Arc Audio XXK 4050
Power: 180x2 @ 4ohms, 260x2 @ 2ohms (12.2V)
Price: List - $599 (I believe)

Zapco REF750
Power: 2x370 @ 2ohms (12.2V)
Price: $559 (off of woofersetc.com) I can't remember list

There's 5 different amps. I've owned each brand before and exactly those models but I'd go for any. I'm absolutely in love with my 2 new Boston amps I put in my daily driver. They are severely underratted in power, super easy to use (hands down one the nicest designs to tune I've seen in a long time), and some unique design features to aid in installations. I also love my Xtant (X603) I have in my 350Z - very versitile, very sexy looking, and very powerful. The ARC Audio XXK series of amps rock - hands down. I'm not much of fan of hte size of hte Zapco Reference amps, but they do kick. PG always makes good amps I'm just not too keen on the Xenon styling. I still love the Titanium lineup the best from them.

That's the good thing about the xtant 1.1i, it will push 100 watts at 1-4 ohm. Like all xtant amps, very underrated. Bi-amplifying the 4.4 is a very good choice too.

Just picked up some Focals myself...Polyglass 165V slim for the fronts... what amp would be good... I was thinking of the Audison 65wx4...and then upgrading my rear speakers sometime as well...! I plan on putting two 12's (probably eclipse) subs as well....with another audison amp..I love setting off alarms with the bass!!!!! Thoughts?? opinions???

What do think about:

PG X200.4 for the BA Z6's

PG X1200.1 for one 10" RE XXX (rated at 1500 watts RMS)

I would personally go with some Seas Lotus-Reference components at this price level. I have heard nothing short of a custom 3-way setup that has matched its accuracy and clarity.

The REXXX is a great driver. In that class, it all depends on your musical preferences. From what you indicated you are interested in your PM, I think this is an excellent choice.

I am partial to TRU amps ... Audison is a close second. I like things a bit more exotic than others. A 2.200 for the front will be perfrect for you.

http://www.trutechnology.com/main.htm
- link ... since most can never find it

The PG for bass is good though.

PG is no doubt awesome. I currently use a vintage M44i PG for my front stage and I love it. ... that and I am broke right now so no TRU yet

Hope that helps. Good luck with the system .. and be sure to keep all of us updated on the progress.

Jim,
You got me excited with the trutechnology. I looked briefly at the site and saw those beautiful copper amps. Looking for prices now, I'm scared to look. They sure would look good with that Burnt Orange interior. Going to do some more research.

Thanks.

Yesterday was my birthday. My wife suprised me with the Kenwood DDX-7015. My installer came to my house and installed it in my garage. She said she knew I had some plans for the speakers and subs and wasn't quite sure what I wanted. So she got the ball rolling with the head unit. How cool was that! :-)
