anyone know how hard the install is for the dv4100? i'm hooking it up to a ddx7015. i saw a lot of wires in the picture, so not sure if it'll be a ***** to hook up. lemme know!
The navigation plugs directly into the DDX7015 using a data cable. That is all you need to connect the Navigation to it. The navigation has its own set of wires that have to be connected. Most of them are as simple as hooking up a radio, Yellow=Constant. Red=Ignition. Black=Ground. All of these wires can be found on the radio harness. The other two wires that are different are the back-up light wire, which goes hooked up to the back up light wire(this wire is not really needed, the navigation will function correctly without it. The last wire is the white wire and is where everyone has trouble. It goes hooked up to the vehicle VSS wire. That is all there is to it. I forgot the antenna which just plugs into the unit.
Thank you there einstein you just read the instruction manual. Like I said give me a pic of the wires and I will tell you where the reverse wire is and the vss wire is to plug into.

for people with the nav...did u install the brain in the slot behind the driver seat? frmo the photos it seems the wires are not that long...how did u extend to the HU?
Sorry Mr.Einstein, I did not read the manual. I happen to know this because I work for Kenwood, not because I read the manual. As a matter of fact here is the VSS wire without needing pics. It is a white wire pin#26 at the unified meter and A/C amp which is located behind the A/C controls in the center console.

Yup, I installed mine in the cubby behind the driver seat. Still had enough space to close the cubby. Perfect stealth install. The people who did the install ran the wires through the center console I think. It's long enough.

yeah...i instlaled the HU earlier today. after doin that with my friend dave@active i feel fine bout doin the nav install. the Z comes right apart like a model car ^_^
Question for THEDUKE and The LIU MAN : How do you guys like the NAV? I'm comtemplating doing the same install. The best price I've gotton thus far is around $750. Is that a good number?
ummm you still had a stupid answer duke, anyways I do like the nav with the voice activation. I ran all of the wires through the center console and mounted it in the pocket behind the drivers seat. It is very clean and easy to do. Just pay close attention to the speed sensor wire. DO NOT SHORTEN THE WIRE. Just tie it up and tuck it somewhere.
Hey can you post a pic of the unit mounted in the rear please? I want to see how it is mounted and if it is in the mailslot. Mine is mounted there but I am not crazy about the fabricated bezel that keeps falling off.
