Default box behind seat?

I know someone by now has to have built a sub box to fit in the factory location, and if that person could PLEASE tell me (and im sure others want to know) the requirements and possibly just post a big "how to" on doing it, that would be a huge help. Thanks.

Also, before I try it and something breaks, how do you remove the glove box?

I'm currently in the process of having my install done right now at Tweeter, etc. They are building a box for the factory location. My installer will use a combination of fiberglass and particle board. I have a roadster so this was the only location that really made sense unless I wanted NO trunk space. My JL 500/5 amp will be mounted and backlit in the spare tire well under clear plexi with a cut-out stock Z trunk mat. I'll post details of exactly what was done once it is finished.

I know LanceG33 had a custom box built for him to go there and it sounds nice. You can maybe ask him for some details.

removing glove box behind the passenger seat is a biatch.

you take out the side-rear panels, (the one that goes around the small window in the back), on both sides. no screws.

take the center console off. there are three screws holding the piece. one underneath the coin box, 2 on each side of the center console.

and then you take the long panel that is covering the glove compartment. you just yank on it, and it just pops out. no screws there.

once that long panel is out, you will see the glove compartment itself bolted.

that is it. wear your glove. i still have scars left from opening that shiet.

also, once you take the long panel off, you will be able to see all the space you need for your sub box. pretty huge space. just gotta make a floor and secure the box or something.

good luck.

The after, they hit hard, and it has the look of a rear deck

Yes kind of. I still have the stock bose grill panel covering the compartment. Only thing i have in it right now is my Stiff Cap for my audio. But I test fitted my Nos Tank and it fits nicely side to side in there no one would ever see my Tank and think its stock

I used a single 10" JL W3v2 in a fully sealed custom built fiberglass box in the stock location. You are limited by the size of the magnet due to the angle of the of the sub. There is plenty of bass for me using a 250w JL amp to drive the sub. Unless you are a heavy rapper that wants it LOUD, you will do fine. It's hard to get really serious bass inside the roadster. Trunk won't work since it is too far isolated from the driver compartment.
