High voltage on gauge post stereo install

High voltage on gauge post stereo install

I'm consistently running 14-15v on the far right gauge since I added an amp/XM/CD changer. Does this mean that my alternator is working overtime? Is this normal? Anybody else notice this??

most cars i've seen run at around 14.4 volts when the engine is running.
