aright so i installed my speakers into the doors up front...ran the wire through the doors and everything but i forgot to mark which wire is the tweeter and which is the midbass

so i was thinking that i could just hook up the speakers and see which one i get sound from and that way i will know which speaker wire goes to which.

my question is that will i blow anything if i hook up ther tweeter wire to the midbass or the midbass to the tweeter when i try and figure out which wire is which?

im so dumb but any help is appreciated

Yes this will work, just keep the volume to reasonable levels.

Another trick is to use a 9 volt battery and just touch the speaker wires to the (+) and (-) terminals. You will get a pop from each speaker as you touch the wires with it. You can also use the 9 volt battery to check the polarity on the midbass and subwoofer. When you get positive to positive and negative to negative the speaker cone will pop outwards into the car - if you get it backwards the cone will suck back into the spider away from the inside of the car. The tweeter cone can be hard to check this way but it will work on dome tweeters a bit.

 

i actually know the positive and negative orientation on the wires...the positive wiring has writing on it and the negative doesnt...i just didnt keep track of which set go to which

 

Yup, just use the 9 volt battery... works like a charm!
