Question Tank of Gas

Dumb question,

Is the Dealer required to give you a full tank of gas when you take delivery of your Z??

Default not sure if required

NOt sure if its required, but I've recieved a full tank of gas on every car i've purchased. My Z, Xterra, M3 and heck even my Yamaha R1, If it isn't full ask them to fill it up.

I doubt Nissan requires it, but most dealers do nowadays. You're still paying for it. I guess you could say it's part of that dealer administration fee....

I got my first tank paid for by the dealer.

He said it was the most expensive fill up he'd ever done on a Nissan.

Unless it's in the contract, the dealer is only required to give you a reasonable amount of gas to reach a gas station. Almost all dealers give you more than ample gas as a matter of policy and many give you a full tank.

One of the questions on the Nissan satisfaction survey asks if you got a full tank. That probably means they are supposed to give you one. I got one with mine and they made a point of showing it on their delivery checklist (I guess I just answered the question - if its on their checklist you should get it).

I don't think it's required but it's a nice touch.. I had between 3/4 and a full tank on delivery.. One of the questions asked in the Nissan survey I got in the mail was Did the car come with a full tank of gas.. So... It looks like they want you to have a full tank..

At my dealer it was part of the PDI. I had asked (demanded) in my "letter to the dealer" that contained all of my requests, that ONLY 93 octane be used since that is what Nissan recommends for the car. They had no problem with that and in fact, let me and my friend take the car to the gas station and fill up the tank with 93 octane using their dealer credit card.

My girlfriend just bought a 2003 Mazda today, and it actually stated on the window sticker "complimentary full tank of gas".
