Default Questions about this amp-->MB Quart RAA-1000

Anyone familiar w/ this amp? It sounds awesome but I am not sure if this is overkill. I am thining about getting this amp to power to JL 10's W3. This is a mono amp @ 1000 watts RMS at a stable 1ohm. What do you think??
I also was wondering if anyone could steer me towards a good 4 channel amp to power 2 pairs of components?

Smile I own the MB Quart Raa-1000

I bought the MB from crutchfield last month. They are closing out there inventory of MB Quarts. The amp is awesome. It is 1000watts at 1ohmn but it is like 500watts at 4ohmns (Mb actually rates there amps lower than they are). I bought it to push my MB Quart 10inch Pro sub that I also got from Crutchfield.com.

For regular price the amp is overkill. But I paid $299.00 from crutchfield.com The amp is very big and has alot of adjustments. The amp will fit in the compartment behind the passangers seat just well. The amp also comes with a wired remote to control gain and eq. You will need a serious amp kit to hook it up. I paid $50.00 for mine. I think it came with like 4 gauge wire. Run the wire through the firewall (go to how to sticky) after that when you get to the passagenger door after you remove the plastic you will notice a white plastic casing under the carpet. The casing is empty and i used it to run my power wire - it fit great.

I have a 9855 Alpine head unit. I currently use my Alpine to power my 4 Polk Audio db650's (please note the rears in a roadster, should have been 6 3/4 not 6.5, but I made it work).

I also have the amp and sub mentioned above. For $299.00 I don't think you can touch it with anything else. MB Quart is a superior product at retail, much less at a discount.

Thanks for your info on this, it's appreciated. I still have not decided what subs to get, I wonder if I get 2 decent subs if this amp will be overkill?

Default 2 subs with 1000watt

Don't forget that the 1000watts is rating for 1ohmn. If you had 2 subs at 2 ohmns you would have about 250 watts per sub. Watts are not just about loud, they are also about qaulity. High quality subs require high watts to push them even at low volumns. If you got 2 Pro subs from MB Quarts this amp would not be overkill. go to www.crutchfield.com get the 800 number and call them. They are experts in the field. If you buy the amp and subs from them they have a 24 hour tech service that gaurantees they can help you install anything. I called them at 11:30 one night and the guy I talked to understood what I needed and helped me out immediately with detailed information, as though he was standing there beside me and describing from looks. They must have views on there computer to tell them waht to say.
