Topic ... any thoughts on this? The manual doesn't really specify ... I looked at the sticker and it didn't indicate it but I thought that I had remembered reading somewhere that all 2005+ units were SAT-Ready.

 

All 2005 Premium systems (Bose) are. I'm not sure about the others. In any case it should say on the faceplate somewhere if it is I believe.

 

I have a 2k5 with Premium Bose ... doesn't say it on the unit anywhere ... humm ... I was considering the PAC ipod Auxillary input thingy ... only works if you're SAT-Ready though ...

 

It doesn't say in the owners manual anywhere? How about on your original sticker?

Window sticker shows:
“Bose Audio System with AM/FM/6CD
& 7 Speakers, including Bose Sub-Woofer”

I too am looking at adding Sirius, I already
have a “built in” sat system in another car.

 

Nope, nothing on the Sticker Here either ... and nissanusa.com isn't very specific either when you look at the Trim details ...

netminder32, you have the same thing I do on the sticker, which is the Premium Bose. The non-touring has the non-Premium Bose system. I definitely don't have a SAT button, though from looking at the manual perhaps it is supposed to be accessed by scrolling through 'Radio' ?

 

Nope. Mine is an 03 Touring & the sticker says basically the same thing. I know for a fact no sat. ready in 03. I know I read somewhere the 04's & up had sat ready radio's though. Based on what you guys are saying I'm not sure anymore. I'd think it would have to be referenced somewhere in the materials for your cars.

Yup ... just really odd ... I wish there was an easy way to tell. I too thought that all the 2k5 models with the Premium System were SAT Ready ... but ... dunno now ... the book just says, "Do this for SAT*"

Maybe they're all enabled like we think and the * is for whether or not you have the antenna installed ??

 

If Sat ready there would be a button that says "SAT" reaplacing or in conjuction with "RADIO", next to "CD" And "TAPE". At least thats what i understood from the manual.

I bought my NON US Spec 35th anniv Z in may 2005 and the back of my HU is the one in the pic. Going by other threads and pics, I am missing a 12pin connector...

 

350Z LMS - looks like you don't have the SAT plug.

2004+ US cars should, however, according to this install document from Grubbs Nissan:

Howard thanks for that. I cannot believe we get the US pre-2004 model HUs, that's just not good enough from Nissan!

 

Anyone know what the bottom connector is for and how many pins it's got?

this is what the back of my 06 non bose looks like, can i hook something into that white connector like a sat radio or mp3 player?
