Even though the HU has wired steering wheel control input, I believe you will still need the Pac-audio SWI-ALP. Check out:
LINK
It does not list your HU, but it does list the JVC KD-AVX1 as one of the units supported. I know some people have been experiecing problems in getting the SWI-ALP to work. Dunno if the problems have been resolved.

Yes you still need it.
The PAC unit converts the signals from the steering wheel controls into signals the head unit understands. You connect the wire/wires from you steering wheel controls to the PAC input and the output of the PAC to the wired remote input on your head unit.

Please re-read post#4 above. I do not see why that is tough to understand.
Most HUs do NOT accept any steering wheel input. Your JVC and a few others do. But how would you connect the steering wheel harness to the HU without something that acts as an adapter? That something is the PAC interface unit.
People who do not have HUs that accept steering wheel inputs have to use the SWI-X adapter which converts wheel control commands into infrared signal to the HU, fooling HU into thinking a remote control is being used. It works, but has a lag. Wired inputs have no lag.
