Default Million dollar question; in-dash or external LCD?

I can't decide whether to go with a 7" LCD in the cubby and a CD/DVD/MP3 headunit, or a system like the Eclipse AVN5435. Any thoughts on this? I imagine most of you went through the same decision process.

One downside to the 7" LCD is I have an '05 Z, so I'd need to get the '04 cubby. A big plus is the price of that combo.

HA.. I'm going through this decision right now as well. If it's any help, I am leaning towards the double-din unit (i.e. Eclipse AVN5435). I think it looks really sweet, flush, and the styling with the silver accents on the top and bottom I think match the car well.

Having to open and close the lid seems like a pain, but on the other hand would be great for security. Pros and cons to everything I suppose.

Tough tough tough... let me know what you choose.. I might follow the leader.

Haha, yeah, I'm kinda leaning that way as well. That "all in one" feel is nice too. Tough choice!

Get both? I mean if you've got a million dollars to spend.

Well, after my Kenwood Excelon lcd screen fried this weekend I too am making the same decision. You should check out the Pioneer AVIC-D1 alot of cool features for a double din including NAVtraffic.

check it out http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...219118,00.html

I believe he wanted a unit that also would play DVD movies. The AVIC-D1 will not play DVD Movies.

I'm about 99% sold on the Eclipse unit. Gotta find the best price on it...
