The system should sound pretty good, Noticeably better then stock.

Yes the pods will help ALOT.

Also check the crossover settings in the amps, Sometimes shops like to have crossover settings a little too high to protect the spaekers. Also if they did not use the right rings in the door it will make a big difference.

XR's are very punchy and they will handle a good amount of midbass with the pods.

Also you need to make sure everything is in faze.

i am currently running a 2 10" JL in the stealth box, man.. I wish someone here local can clean it up, because i feel like the install was an .. lets just say unprofessional. Ok. I guess, i need to see how much the pods are shipped to 92618 and do you know if the pioneer dvh p5000mp, i know it will play DVD movies, but will it play a DVD full of MP3?? and your oponion on the deck too, I guess I have to stick with pioneer because I bought the pioneer sirius tuner..

Your 5000mp is a nice deck but will not play DVD Mp3 well at least I don't think so.

 

well you have all the right components. pretty much the same as in my bmw except i have a 10w7 sub. however if your using the stock headunit then your not getting but about 1/3 of what you paid for. if you have an aftermarket headunit then your installer sucks *** because it should kick some serious butt.

now back to whether or not you are using the stock headunit. if you are then you should be using the jl audio cleansweep or you need to get an aftermarket headunit. all your other stuff is just fine.

 

So who has these so far, and how much better does it sound?

 

well it seems he has the oem headunit. thats your problem right there. unless you use the jl audio cleansweep then there is no way the oem headunit is sending enough constant volts to the amps. i mean the bmw is less than 1 volt. the cleansweep maintains a constant 8 volts and i put it in my bmw with all jl audio speakers and amps and it works great. i drove around without the cleansweep for four months waiting on that item to be released and i was the first install for my sound shop. big time difference. however on the Z unless you just have a hardon for the oem headunit i would replace it over using the cleansweep product. the Z atleast has dash kits to make a clean install where my bmw doesnt due to its size and contour.

Your question is valid if they were 5.1/4". Well NO. If you have them Vinyled I will leave extra vinyl to Cover the Gap in the inner lip and it will blend in Perfect. Just let me know. I don't think it will even be necessary but You can simply cut the extra vinyl.
