Those rear speakers are 16 ohms I think, and won't work right with a head unit that is not set up for different ohms in front and rear.

16 ohms shouldn't be a problem - you've got the wires disconnected somewhere.

Well since you only had a head unit replaced, Start from what you took apart. It may be one of the pins diconnected in the back of the plug.

Rockford unit you are using form the Xterra, Is that aftermarket ? If it is OEM it may not have any rear outputs. It may be designed to work with a factory amp in rear.

It has to be something disconnected, Or rears are Blown which I doubt. Unless again th eXterra had a factory amp.

If you can install it back in the Xterra and see what happens.

Well if you have a NON Bose system you do not have an Amp. You can get an aftermarket.

Did you use both harnesses? There is the main harness that has the power and front speakers. The other small harness has the rear speakers on it.

whyd you buy the unit from a xterra, rather than just a normal aftermarket unit?

It is very possible that the OEM factory radio made by Fosgate is set up where the head unit powers the front speakers and the rear speakers are powered by an external amp, so the rear outputs or the Xterra headunit is only sending out a low level signal.
