i've heard the kenwood interface is slow, and i've also heard the icelink is slow too...
anyone know of a fast interface for an ipod to connect to my kenwood ddx 7015??
http://www.mp3yourcar.com/ <- this one is pricey and has no reviews

hmmn. Thats a little weird because its not like the HU reads in the playlist or anything. It just uses the iPod - just like it was a CD changer or another device.
I have a few large playlists and I have not noticed it being slow with large playlists. Not sure what exactly they were talking about.
As far as the iPod being disabled when its connected, it doesnt really matter either since it is usually tucked away in the storage compartment. Its not like your gonna mess with it while driving. The HU provides all of the controls. Again, the UI is lacking but from what I understand, none of them are very good.
I wish someone would make a standard for portable music device interfaces (universal interface) so that we can have a really good UI for our cars. I'd ditch the iPod in a second.

I have the Kenwood 7015.
selection: there isnt much to see. depending on what mode you are in it will either list playlists, albums, artists, or songs (like 10 or so at a time and you can scroll through them).
When playing, you can go to the next/prev song in the list (random if RAND is selected) or Disc+- to go to the next Album/Artist/Playlist/Song. There are a few more controls but I am sure all of this is dependent on which HU you have.
If I get a chance I will try to snap a shot or two for you. Maybe you can download the info from Crutchfield or Kenwood?
Sorry just nopticed your sig says Kenwood 7015! BTW I am sure you can get a discount on the adapter these days and that would make it pretty cheap, little risk. Heck you could even return it if you dont like it.
