You bet... they have some sensor for the cruise control I believe... it automatically detects distance and brakes.

Keep in mind many SUVs use a type of neon light for their brake light in the back. Those lights operate close enough to the frequency that police lasers use that it will set off your laser detector. Very annoying. Also, if you have any sort of LCD screen in your car, those use the same sort of neon backlights that the SUV brake lights use, and will also set off your laser detector.

yeah, it's in your V1 manual about laser cruise control and certain suv lights setting off the laser warning

My V1 has been doing that too. I didn't even think about laser cruise control.

Chevrolet Trailblazers/Envoys tailights just about always set mine off. I have read at other sites about others experiencing the same thing...

I think you guy need to send your V1's in for upgrades. I am pretty sure the newest software takes care of a lot of these false signals.

Beat me 2 it!! ....was just gonna add that my 8500-x50 doesn't either....WHEN it actually goes off indicating LASER, it MEANS laser!! (Except, I've found it luckily also goes off at ALL intersections in the ATL-metro area that use photo-enforcement

The reason the X50 doesn't experience the problem is because the X50 only detects for 904 NM wavelengths, while the V1 detects a range of wavelengths, not to mention the V1's laser detection blows the x50 out of the water

If your laser goes off when the detector is plugged into his car when he hits the button, the laser goes off because there is a voltage drop/spike

it went off when our cars were next to each other on the driveway but it was in my car. His 8500 goes off too when he hits it though.

ummm, I just got my V1 two months ago... and it was doing the same thing at an intersection.... no police around from what I could see.
