Well if you have a 2004 or later and want a 7" screen to fit, the easy way is to get a 2003 cubby. Then you pull out the center console and trade cubbys. The 03 has a different finish than the rest so if you want to get creative you can pull the doors apart and switch the, but that is a little more involved.
I have not seen a 7" in a latter cubby yet, not to say it can't be done though, just have not seen it.
2003 cubbies are available at performance nissan.

i have a 03 Z. Can the 7'' fit in the cubby without takin the sliding door off? I want to be able to open and close the cubby while the lcd is in there. How can i insert the 7'' in the cubby? I tried installin it from the front but it jus wont fit right. Any suggestions?

Check out the pictures near the bottom of the right side, this is how I got my screen in. http://www.hypersprite.com/auto/tech-z-007/default.asp
The little box comes out from the back, then I used zip ties to hold it in. It's been in there a while and has not moved at all. It's solid.

There is a "how to" some place on this site.
You actually start with the shifter boot/air controls piece by lifting it out of the way. Sort of stick you fingers into the boot and lift up on the trim towards you. To lift it up and turn it to the side, it is easier if the car is in Neutral or third. Disconnect the Air module from the shifter boot/air controls piece.
Then it reveals screws Two for the air module and two for the lower part of the console. I find it easier to pull out the air module first. Sort of a pain.
The middle screws are behind the bottom of the cubby so you need to take the lower trip piece off the cubby to get to those.
The top pulls away but it has the gauge wires so to get it more than a few inches you need to disconnect that.
You don't really need to pull the whole thing out but at that point you can if you want, I just put a towel on my shifter and leaned it into the car while I worked on it.

wow...ok..it was harder than i thought... I managed to place the 7'' power acoustik lcd in stock cubby. I ran the wires and hid them perfectly. I didnt get to finish the install cause it got dark. I'm going have to start again tommorow morning. I had hard time getting power for the dvd player. Should i get the power from cigarette lighter or jus go straight from the battey? Does the cigarette lighter pop off cause i hard time getting it out so i can get access to the wires beneath it. Anyways, ima go try again in the morning and ill definetly have pics of the lcd and dvd player. Thanks for all ur help.

Problem....
i installed both the lcd and dvd player and i have my boss speakers connected to the dvd at station 88.9. The problem is that i hear a lot of static sounds when im playing movie. Is this normal? When i put it back to regular radio station or cd player, the static goes away. Is there something i could do to get rid of the static noise coming from the speakers?
