Default hooking up components using stock wiring

a friend of mine in Miami, who has no power right now as a result of Wilma, asked me to ask this question since he is trying to finish his installation while he is still off of work.

when hooking up a set of component speakers, what wires does he connect to the cross over, the wires that goes tot he stock midbass, or the wires that go to the stock tweeter, or some other wires? btw, he has a new headunit and amp for the speakers. to connect the amp to the speakers he ran the speaker wires to the back of the head unit and spliced into the radios harness going to the speakers, so from behind the radio to the speakers he is using the stock wiring.

The wire that goes to the factory midbass should go into the in of the crossover.(you can cut it or strip it and tap it) Then out to new midbass and out to new tweeter.
