two connectors on back of stock HU
There are two connectors on the back of the stock HU. Does anyone know what these go to? Can you get a harness or adapter that might allow you to hook sound up rather than using an FM modulator. I'd like to hook up a DVD player and use the HU to control parts of it just as I would a cd changer. Does anyone think this might be possible?
yeah, I asked that same question here too.

This is the only thing I've found that might work (see thread)

should provide better quality than FM mod, but nissan not listed.

My bet would be one is for the changer control, and one is (crosses all apendages) for steering wheel controls like some of the other similar Nissans have.

I asked the same question too... Judging from the responses, not too many people know. My guess is it's for some after market wire harnesses....possibly something like what alphared posted.
This is how the cd changer is hooked up....

I have the FSM (factory service manual), and according to the wiring layout, here is the layout for the Base (non-Bose) system:
Power (battery)
ACC
Ground (case)
4 wires for front speakers
4 wires for back speakers
1 wire for antenna signal
2 wires from illumination control
4 wires for NAVI
Nowhere in the FSM is there a mention of CD changer controls. I realize that there may be other wire harness connections in the back, but I don't think they are there for changer controls...
So, it looks like the only way to add a 6+ CD changer is via an FM modulator...I hope htis info helps, but at least it will prevent you guys from probing around for something that doesn't exist.

Its strange that they do not tell you how to add a 6 disc changer to the base system, if it is a possibility. The FSM tells you everything, and its strange they they left that out...of course, I could have missed it in there.
The diagram I posted above shows you how to add a 6-disc cd changer.
Courtesy Nissan sell a 6 disc cd changer and this is the link on how to install it.

Look at this mod on an audi.
This guy did what we're asking, he patch into the HU to get an AUX in for his IPOD.
http://home.attbi.com/~jbipes/ttr/auxin1.html
Man all he did was take 2 wires, a 12V relay, a Stero mini jack and a toggle switch to switch between CD and his IPOD.
Soooo all we need is to find the pins and patch into it!
